Bad diagnostic

Reviews Profile & Settings Michael Jordan Nissan Sep 5, 2022 Castro28 I took my 2015 Nissan van to the dealer they told me that was the timing chain and paid them $6,200 after replacing the timing chain the problem was worsts and they said the cats need to be replaced they quote for $4,200 (by then I have ordered the cat because they said before that it need to be replaced so I change them van still doing the same after talked with service manager now they said that the problem is the secondary cats and it will be $3,200 more this is a scam for me because they only guessing the diagnostic and make me spend lot of money this can is not worth it the money spent on the repairs but I trust them when the diagnostic was the timing chain even when It was lot of money to replace I moved with the repairs what can go wrong is the dealership the best “mechanic” how wrong I was

Poor performance all around

I bought a 2021 Frontier in April and the after the sale customer service has been nonexistent. The salesperson who I worked with acts like he doesn’t know me and the service department is apathetic at best. I would not want my name or my brand associated with such poor performance.

Never again Michael Jordan, never again Nissan!

Brought in my Sentra for emissions and a passenger airbag sensor safety recall a year ago. Went well, but they did try to have me change a recently changed air filter, without even checking it. Then a few months later, I notice the passenger airbag off light again, even though my wife is sitting in the seat. Bring it in again for emissions and the so called "voluntary" recall to the "safety" recall, to fix what should have been fixed, and the charge me $160+ to diagnose what they "fixed" and want $700+ more to change failed sensors that they last worked on. Never again Michael Jordan Nissan, never again Nissan!

Amazing people

Went to the dealer after being misled so many times. The staff at MJN are very professional and so great to work with. I won’t go anywhere else and wouldn’t let a friend go anywhere else. Keep up the great work guys you have a new customer for life!

Thanks to Mr. Wilson

I had a great experience. They treated me like if I was apart of their family from the time I was picked up to the time I drove off the lot in my brand new car. I was so scared at first but Mr. Wilson put my mind at a different level. Thanks to Mr. Wilson and the Michael Jordan Nissan dealership.

Way overcharged for simple vehicle maintenance

Way overcharged me - $150 for 2 air filters. The managers there made excuses and said they had no control over pricing so unfortunately, I'm out of luck. Not acceptable. This is a sad level of professionalism and I will not be recommending them to any of my friends or family.

Issue resolved

My issue has been resolved. Rick S. went above and beyond to make me happy. I will take down the negative review when I figure out how to do it. I would go back purely due to the professionalism that Rick S. brings to the table in representing this dealer.

Bad attitude

I thought car dealerships were supposed to want to sell cars. Adequate assumption, right? Apparently Michael Jordan Nissan has other priorities. Like not greeting customers and taking them for a test drive avoiding the highways after being told that highway performance was a priority. However, our salesman, James was nice and knowledgeable. I explained that I did not have my title and it was in a former married name, however, I have the court documents relinquishing the rights of my car (specifically listing the VIN) and I did not know where my ex-husband even was considering we divorced in 2005. The salesperson didn't think it would be a problem (and we were already assured it wouldn't be at another dealer) and went to get the financial manager to discuss the title and my trade in. Now when this guy shows up - his first words out of his mouth were extremely condescending and it went downhill from there. He kept speaking over me as I was explaining what type of documentation I had to tell me "I know how the DMV works and they won't care." He refused to even look at my car (which is in very good condition) because "it was a waste of [his] time." Additionally he told me not to go to another dealership until I have a viable title. He spoke to me as if I was 5 years old through the whole two minutes he talked AT me. With my dad sitting right there. As if we were beneath him. I understand that it is an unusual and difficult situation. But Sport Durst was confident that they could take care of it, perhaps at an additional cost. I am willing to go to the DMV myself but after he refused to "waste his time" looking at my car I won't waste his either. See ya.

Excellent salesman, great car, very happy!

We recently bought a used Nissan Rogue from this dealership, and I was extremely happy with our experience. Torrey Swain is the guy who helped us, and he was excellent- I don't think I've ever dealt with a car salesman who was so responsive! No pressure at all, very patient as we looked over multiple vehicles, and a pleasure to deal with. As we just purchased the car, I haven't been to the service department yet, but the dealership was very well maintained and professional-looking. My only issue was that we did feel a little bit of pressure to purchase additional warranty/ gap insurance/ maintenance program on the car (not from Torrey, from another associate helping with the financing), but we ended up with exactly what we wanted at a really good interest rate, so I really can't complain. Regardless of where you buy a car, I'm sure this is the same everywhere (we've seen this at other dealers). Overall, very happy with our experience, and I am definitely going to recommend this dealership to friends- especially Torrey! He was awesome. So far I'm extremely happy with the car, as well!

BEWARE!!

Beware! Beware! I took my Nissan in for an oil change, was told I needed brake flush, coolant flush and an air filter replaced, fine. When I picked up my car from having these services done, I was told I had a hole rusted through my exhaust manifold and it would be very expensive to repair, I was quoted "a couple thousand dollars" and I should take it to a shop like Midas and it could be done much cheaper. Leaving this service appointment, my car was making a new, constant, very loud humming noise. I called the warranty company and learned that this repair would be covered under my warranty. I called the service department back and was questioned about when/where I bought my car because they did not know I had a warranty, apparently they use a different warranty company. (I'm completing a fellowship at Duke and note from NC) The service provider did not offer to bring my car back for repair and quickly got off the phone. (So much for Southern Hospitality) When I called back, I was given the run-around and when I finally spoke with someone they said, "Oh Mike helped you before, he's at lunch and will call you back" which never happened. Taking even more unnecessary time away from my fellowship duties at Duke, I called again the next day asking for the manager and was then allowed to make an appointment. When I brought my car in, with my warranty, I was told there was not a problem with my manifold and "you told your warranty company you had a hole in your manifold, that's not true", that a flange had broken or rusted and that was not covered under the warranty. How, supposedly, professional mechanics at a reputable dealership missed this is beyond me! I asked them not to do anything else. When I picked up the car, it was making a new rattling noise. I took it to a mechanic recommended by a coworker. Upon taking a cursory glance under the car and hearing the noise, he tells me not to return to Michael Jordan Nissan! He tells me, "they have disconnected your exhaust and broken the flange and it will need to be welded." hmmmm This is from a guy that had no stake in the car, he had already told me he doesn't work on Nissan's (Only foreign cars Porsche, BMW, Jags etc) but would refer me to someone else. I am totally disappointed that MJ Nissan was dishonest and crooked! Lastly, I will not allow this awful experience to ruin an otherwise wonderful time I've had here in NC..... Dr. KJ
