I have had a few conversations with sales staff, and always have they kept my interest first.

My son and I bought him a used Jeep from this dealership. The buying process did not go smoothly, but that’s not my issue. He had this cheap for just over 30 days when it’s stalled and quit working. We took it to a jeep dealership in our local town and they said that it is not safe to drive. The bearings are almost non-existant. The joint is falling apart. And the electrical system is bad. We called Shafer and explained the issue. They told us it was sold as is but if we had it towed there they would work with us on the repairs. We had it towed there and waited almost a week before talking to anyone. When they finally communicated about the repair, they said it was done. We drive 45 miles back to Schafer only to find out that they didn’t fix the problem. They tell us “it was sold as is and you were lucky we fixed what we did.” we haven’t even gotten it home and it stalled again. I will never do business with them again! I warn you to not either! You might buy a piece of junk and get stuck with over a $5000 car payment on a vehicle you can’t drive.

I forgot to add to my previous review: I see the response from the dealership on some of the other negative reviews say that they can’t determine when a problem is going to occur on a vehicle in the future. I’m sorry, but the problems that this jeep has would have been found before now. Maybe your service department just sucks!

Bought a used truck with help from Eric Stewart and Norm, the Finance & Warranty guru (Stewie and Stormin'Norman). It was a very pleasant experience overall. WMye were impressed by the number of used trucks they had available. My husband and I had a list of stock numbered used pickups that we wanted to see. Just about everyone of them was available to look at, with the exception of ones that had deposits down or had already been sold. We went to MANY dealerships and looked at MANY trucks. Shafer was the best bang for the buck hands down. They don't have to haggle with you bc their prices are bottom dollar and the best in the State of Michigan, from ALL the dealerships we had been to. The paperwork for the purchase was flawless, and Erik even suggested a couple options to save some extra $$$. Norm came and presented warranty information, and was not "pushy" in the least when we declined. We are very happy with our purchase and our overall experience at Shafer Chevrolet. We will definitely be back!
