This was the best experience buying not one but 2 vehicles. Kim helped me both times and did a phenomenal job. She never pressured and was good at reading what I liked and needed from a vehicle. I told her what I was looking for and she didnt try to sell me anything outside of what I told her I wanted. She really goes out of her was to please her customers and I will never buy a vehicle anywhere else.

Bad buisness
We were completely lied to and taken for a ride by this dealership! The advertising for this vehicle said it had one owner, from California, and zero accidents. Things started going wrong and we were advised by our mechanic that things looked suspicious. We decided to look up the history using Carfax and discovered that the history of this 2012 vehicle only went back as far as 2018. My husband then contacted Schafer Chevrolet and was rudely dismissed. At this point we were advised to contact the secretary of state and the Michigan attorney general. It was quickly discovered that the vehicle was from Canada, it has been involved in 2 known accidents, and more than one previous owner....the ad we responded to from Schafer was completely fraudulentand they still do not seem too concerned with taking responsibility for their wrong doing. Shame on you Schafer Chevrolet of Pinconning!

Dissapointed
I called and talked to a salesman on Friday, and set up an appointment to look at a vehicle on Saturday morning. This dealer was a 2hr drive from my home. They were fully aware of me coming to test drive and put a down payment on it until the following weekday when the bank opened up so we could complete the transaction. On my way up there, they persisted to sell it to a walk in customer, when i had a previously set up appointment. I was 20 minutes away when they told me. I understand they cant hold a vehicle overnight, but the fact that i was on my way should have been enough to honor my appointment. It was a complete waste of time and money, I'm very disappointed. I will never entertain any offers from this dealership again, and i will never recommend them to anyone.

Dear JC We understand your frustration as shopping for a vehicle can be a stressful endeavor. With our store selling upwards of 200 vehicles per month, we must require a non-refundable deposit in order to remove the vehicle from the market. If there is no deposit on file, the vehicle remains available on the market for test drive and purchase. However, with the inventory we have on hand there is usually many comparable vehicles to take into consideration. If there is anything we can do for you in the future, do not hesitate to contact the store.
Seems good at first, but then a big joke
I recently bought a 2013 Malibu from here and I was impressed at first, thought I got a good deal, and then that's when it all fell apart. I had several issues come up only a month after purchasing the car, so I took it in to their "service" center for work. It has now been 2 weeks and they didn't even start working on it. Only reason I brought it back was because I haven't even had the car for 2 months yet and it's already causing problems. I have called numerous times to check on MY vehicle that I bought and see how it is going, and low and behold no one would call. This has now happened 3 times. They will gladly go out of their way for you to sell you the car, but after that you're nothing. Very displeased with this dealership and will never be coming back again after my so called "service" is finally done.

We understand it can be frustrating when a vehicle is in need of service repair. Although all vehicles receive an inspection prior to sale, it can be difficult to predict when and where a malfunction will occur. Due to circumstances out of our control, the steps that need to be taken to properly repair your vehicle have lasted longer than we would prefer. We are working diligently to complete the repairs up to standard so the vehicle can be returned to you as soon as possible. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this process.
Highly recommend
Very pleased buying my used Avalanche from Schafer. Kurt Beleck was awesome to work with. I told him the price range and what I was looking for. Was easy to work with over text throughout the month or so I was looking by showing me incoming vehicles in my price range or answering questions I had of vehicles on their lot and did a great job responding in a timely manner. Very personable and made the buying process much less stressful. Highly recommend Schafer and Kurt.

Money over safety
When buying a used car, you'd expect everything to be in decent working condition, fluids changed and safely drivable at the time. This dealer does not care what condition the car is in or the parts when purchasing it nor do they do a thorough job on the inspection. I purchased a truck a month ago from them only to have spent an additional $3K since purchasing it due to faulty parts and only an oil change to be replaced. The power steering fluid was black, the transmission fluid had black debris in it, the engine was full of gunk. I spoke with the salesman and manager, both said ball joints and shocks are not safety issues when it comes to trucks, which is laughable. I also had proof with pictures and the faulty parts in my possession to show them and they still did not care or even consider to help compensate for their mistakes. If you decide to purchase a vehicle from these people, make sure you get a separate inspection yourself and that they replace all faulty parts and fluids. It's a shame people care so little about someones safety and in the grand scheme of things, only care about the all mighty dollar. It's truly embarrassing.

Thank you for leaving us feedback on your experience. Just like you Dominic, we also encourage our customers to have any vehicle they wish to purchase inspected by a third party mechanic. All our vehicles do receive inspections by a certified technician before joining the inventory. At the end of the day, we understand used vehicles are not perfect which is why we are usually thousands below retail in price. We choose to pass that savings onto the customer and provide them with the best value in the state. We also offered to assist with repairs if you brought the vehicle back to our Service Department. Once you chose to have the repairs completed at another facility, you took over the financial responsibility.
Not sure what you mean by a title??
Although we were not able to do a deal, I was still very pleased with my experience and would recommend highly. Kim is the sales person we dealt with and in my opinion she was very professional, courteous, and would recommend anyone to her in need of buying a car.

Very Satisfied
I was looking for a used truck on CarGurus for about 3 months. I finally had the chance to visit Schafers. I was greeted kindly by Kim Bartys and treated very well. She was honest and upfront about everything. After I found the truck I was interested in....she made the buying process simple and easy! I would have to say she is the best salesperson I have encountered yet. I am very satisfied with the truck I bought...and will definitely go back to Schafers again in the future.
