Schafer Experience
I was in the market for a Honda Ridgeline and Schafer had what i was looking for. I worked with Norman on the Sales front and he did a nice job working with me complete this deal. The vehicle had a over 100,000 miles and was sold as is. It had a vibration that we thought was probably tires, and I knew tires would need to be replaced regardless. While that was the most logical answer, I was not confident enough to lay out that kind of money on "probably", when it could be more serious. Norm and the guys in the shop worked with me to try a few things to conclude that the vibration was in fact the tires. I went in with my own financing lined up from my bank, and with a very good credit score I figure that I had a competitive rate. Jared shopped this form me and got me a rate that was over 4 point better! Thanks Jared for saving me significant money.

i Just bought a truck from Schafer Chevy and I was very pleased with there service. I live 4 hours away and they brought the truck to me for a test drive since I didn't have the time to drive to their dealership. the Sales person I worked with Norm looked over the truck for me since I wasn't able to see it in person and sent me pictures of anything on the truck I had questions about he even checked the tire tread for me. Norm made buying the truck very easy for me considering how far away I live.

I want to shout from the rooftop how happy I am with our service that we received from Brie at Schafer Chevrolet!! I work in customer service myself and find it very rare to receive EXCEPTIONAL customer service! I am so glad it was her who answered my call on that day to get me the vehicle of my dreams! Not only are the prices the lowest that you will find this was the easiest car buying experience I have ever had! We live quite a distance from the dealership and when I told her it was going to be difficult to get there with my husband for a test drive during business hours she offered to have someone bring me the vehicle! Schafer Chevrolet really exceeds the expectations when it comes to purchasing a vehicle and I couldn't be happier with the after care too!! My shopping at Schafer
I called Schafer on a 2010 Ford Explorer . I asked to talk with a salesman . After inquiring he said the vehicle might have a deposit on it , he wasn't sure . He told me he would check and call me right back . Never heard from him again . This is the 2nd time someone was supposed to call me back . Maybe Shafer should hire me . I am an appliance salesman and do very well and have a lot of satisfied customers . I could probably sell 10 times as many vehicles as their salesman do . They apparently don't know how to do their job correctly .

Horrible Customer Service
Drove several hours to test drive a vehicle, we called before hand to make sure the vehicle was still available, when we arrived they said they couldn't help us unless we knew who we talked to in the phone, then they didn't know where the vehicle was, then they couldn't find the keys. We were finally able to take the vehicle for a test drive, the salesman couldn't answer any questions about the vehicle like what the engine size was or if it was AWD, we asked what other vehicles were available that were similar to that one and instead of showing us what was on the lot he said he liked to do it the easy way and pulled them up on his computer even though the first 3 didn't have pictures and he wasn't sure if they were even on the premises yet. We told him we were interested in the vehicle we test drove and had cash and made an offer, his response was, that's not how we do business here, we then asked what the final price out the door would be he told us and then said but you can't take it today, we don't do same day sales, that's not how we do business here. It was a waste of time and one of the worst displays of customer service I've ever witnessed, we'll gladly take our cash purchase somewhere else.

With over 200 vehicles it makes it hard to know all the details of every vehicle. Our inventory goes extremely fast, and use a lot of different computer soft ware to help us keep track of every vehicle and details. We do same day sales, however on Saturdays we do not have any one in our office to type car deals, but we do offer to send drivers that following week once every thing is typed. On our As-Is vehicles we price thousands back of NADA value, so we put our best price upfront. Most customers appreciate not having to do the "back and forth" negotiating. We understand that you don't agree with this philosophy, but its a philosophy that is working awesome for our customers. People are calling from all over the state every day, a lot like you did from several hours away. Unsatisfied customer that will likely NOT BE BACK!
I FOUND THIS DEALERSHIP, extremely cheap! I Bought a 2010 BMC Sierra pick-up. Dan was my salesman. Dan was nice and personable. The dealership WOULD NOT MOVE ON PRICE, even a few dollars to make a deal. I folded, and ended up buying the truck anyways. Dan & I agreed that because I had to pay full price, that this truck better be cleaned properly (detailed) Inside & out. He also told me that he had to put alittle gas in it for me, I chuckled and said, for what I had to pay for it, it should be topped off. I picked up my truck, and noticed that NO WAY COULD ANYONE HAVE CLEANED THE INSIDE, let alone anything this else. It was rainy the day I picked it up so I won't even mention the outside (pass). I started down the road to go home (about 2 hours away) only to find LESS THAN A HALF A TANK OF GAS. I have NEVER picked up a vehicle, new or used, without a full tank of gas. Id managers of this dealership are reading this, BAD BUISNESS DECISION ON YOUR PART. I won't be back! HOPE THE FEW BUCKS YOU SAVED WAS WORTH IT!

Ken, I will start by apologizing that the vehicle you purchased was dirty - we should have looked it over carefully before delivery. We would be more than happy to make that right the next time you are in the area. As far as the gas goes, that is our company policy; new cars are filled up but used cars get five gallons of gas. As you stated in the beginning of your review you came to us because our vehicle was priced so low. The only way to have our used vehicles priced so low is to cut the frills (which includes full tanks of gas) so that those prices don't ultimately get passed onto the customer. Yes, we only put $15 worth of gas into your vehicle rather than $45, but we are THOUSANDS of dollars below NADA retail price on nearly all of our vehicles. We wouldn't change the price for you, because doing so would be lying to every customer that came before you and that is NOT something we are willing to do. Schafer doesn't make you negotiate down to what you hope is the best deal possible, we give you that price right up front regardless of trade or payment type. I hope that you can see things from this point of view and enjoy your purchase for years to come.

THANK YOU TIM! I found myself in that dreaded spot of needing new transportation fast. I knew what I was looking for and had traveled hundreds of miles looking for that perfect used Trailblazer. I could write a reality show on every thing that occurred in my quest until I called Tim at Schafer. WOW This was the place. The dealership I had purchased my last few cars from had closed and all thou there are many dealerships between Brighton and Pinconning. It just didn't seem to have the right feel to me. You brought the vehicle to me for a test drive, which saved me hours in my very busy life. Thank you again Tim for all you did.
