Not sure yet!!!

Hopefully Schafer Chevrolet comes through on the customer service required for someone that has purchased a vehicle from them and is having issues right away. I purchased a vehicle two weeks ago, and have been driving it for a few hundred miles and I am now visibly leaking fluid. We are in the process of trying to come to a solution but I am being informed that since these issues are not covered under their warranty of 6mo/6 thousand miles, they will "try and help me out but they don't make new vehicles out of used vehicles sold at a used price." Keep in mind that I paid over 10K for my vehicle. I dont know what the resolution will be yet. I will update my comments after this process. This has also been posted to ggogle reviews.

Great deals great service

I had some questions about the selling process so I called Schafer. I talked to Kim for a bit and decided to head there to look around. When I got there she had all the cars in the lot that was in my asking price range printed off and waiting for me. She was extremely helpful and found a vehicle that was perfect for me. At no point did I feel like I was being pushed or bullied which was important to me. I highly recommend Schafer and Kim is a stellar employee

we found a suv on line and talked to dan to fill out our credit report and he wisked it through within a matter of minutes he stayed later for us and was ready for our test drive when we got there. the suv was all that he said it was and we were really pleased with Schafer Chevrolet, and would recommend that dealership to all our friends

Very dissapointed

I was looking for a used truck and found it there and also was pre-approved for a loan with someone else.. . We drove 5 hours to look when we get their to test drive, they had the vehicle but was dirty and had sand all over the seats and floor, but still tested drove it and only a short drive due to fuel light came on. After returning it and checking it out, it had a issue and the salesman said they would check it out. I called Monday to see what came of the issue and was told they couldn't fix it due to no money for this vehicle after a couple of calls. vehicle wasn't really touch or cleaned out like they said would be done and looking the vehicle over again, found more issues with it and they still didn't want to fix the problems. . As of today, they said they wouldn't fix but didn't, Very disappointed that this is even listed as a Chevy Dealership, it was a joke! They said one thing but don't follow through with it.

Hello Leigh, I see you wrote that you are from Bay City and you drove 5 hours to test drive. I just wanted to make sure that you had the right dealership, as we are only about 20 minutes from Bay City. If it WAS us, than I am sorry that you drove here to test drive a vehicle that was not 100% ready to be shown (dirty/low fuel). I would love the opportunity to bring the vehicle to you (or any others you are interested in) after it undergoes a nice deep cleaning. As far as the repairs go, its difficult for me to give a good answer without knowing which vehicle you are talking about and which issues you were noticing but it sounds like this was an as-is vehicle. As-is vehicles are priced to move at our bottom dollar and while anything relating to a safety issue is fixed, cosmetic issues are sometimes not - again this is in an effort to keep our prices low. Again, I am sorry that this didn't work out for you and I hope we get the chance to make it up to you in the future.

Great Experience With Eric at Schafers

After dealing with other dealerships for a month, we finally made the trip to Schafers after seeing some of their listings online. We dealt with Eric and had the best experience. We looked at 4 different vehicles, test drove 2 and even changed our mind on which one we wanted at the last minute when paperwork had already started being filled out. Eric was very friendly and easy to work with the entire time; not pushy in any way whatsoever. After the first couple vehicles we looked at didn't work out, Eric's service was why we kept looking at Schafer's, it was a pleasant experience. We will definitely be returning and working with Eric for any purchases in the future and recommending to family and friends.

New car buying made so easy!!!!

I recommend Joseph to anyone looking to buy a new car. I ended up getting a completely different car than I was looking for, but am very pleased with my purchase.

Our buying experience

I just want to say how impressed we are with our purchase. Our salesman, Joseph Carr was the absolute best. I don't think we have ever had a better car buying experience. Thank you Schafer for my new car!!

I have been talking for at least a year about getting a new car and I finally decided that it was time. I was looking online and found a Traverse that I loved, and it had an awesome price to go with it. Eric Steward helped get me into that Traverse and I have been so happy with my purchase. Eric was extremely helpful and made the process so easy. I recommend Shafers for your next purchase and make sure you ask for Eric!

Their "PRICE" only/not willing to work to a deal..

I was looking for a used truck and found it there and also was pre-approved for a loan with someone else.. But they didn't want to lower it($1,700) to get a sell. When I got there, they couldn't find the vehicle at first, because someone from there was driving it...but found it and it was dirty and had sand all over the seats and floor, but still tested drove it and only a short drive due to fuel light came on. After returning it and checking it out, it had a issue and the salesman said they would check it out. I called Monday to see what came of the issue and was told they couldn't fix it due to no money for this vehicle after a couple of calls and they also wanted to see if they could beat the interest I had on a pre- aprroved loan. I showed up Tuesday to see what we could come up with...vehicle wasn't really touch or cleaned out like they said would be done and looking the vehicle over again..found more issues with it and they still didn't want to fix the problems. So they said if you go with their bank with a higher % rate and buy GAP for it, that they would try to fix it as long as it wasn't a lot of $$$ to fix it. They get a % of extra stuff you buy from them, so they were trying to collect more money to offset the repairs. I went to another dealer in my area that just put a similar vehicle on their lot and drove away with it and I love it. See the local dealer was willing to work with me and YES I got it lower then this dealer wanted for their and that is why their vehicle is still sitting on their lot after 40 some days. They also was basically saying that I wouldn't get much for my trade in and I got a good deal with the local dealer on my trade in. I gave them a out the door quote, which I said was only like $1700 lower then they were asking, but no deal and I even said I would fix the issues myself. As of today, I see that they have lowered the price twice since I started talking to them. I really did want their truck, but they didn't want to work with me.... so I went somewhere else.

Rather than price our inventory up high in order to talk down we are honest with our customers from the first moment. Our truck that you are referring to is currently priced $3866 BELOW NADA book values. 99.9% of customers love our new philosophy - People don't like to guess whether or not they got the best deal possible. If we negotiated with you, we would be lying to all of our customers for the past several years. Please don't misunderstand, its not that we are unwilling to work with you - it is simply that we don't play the games that other dealers do.
