I'm not going to name any names because the salesman is a good man and I don't want to besmirch his character since none of this was his fault. Day 1... - Found a vehicle that fit my family, and traded in our car. The value of our trade seemed pretty low considering its age, but it was a Nissan and I know they're known for transmission problems. They said the offer was that low ($2,500) because it was going to be auctioned and not sold at the dealership. (I purchased it for $10k between 2 to 3 years ago from Nelson Nissan) Day 2 - two days after purchase the check engine light came on while my wife was driving our daughter to school. I ended up having to leave work early to get it to an independent shop for a diagnostic ($120) and it was showing codes for the fuel system. It also appeared the computer had been reset so no lights were on the dash and the computer thought it was 2012 instead of 2019. I talked with our salesman and took it back to Nelson mazda with the intention of returning it that night and getting our trade back. Had a talk with the sales manager (who was very apologetic) and he asked that I give him a day to have his tech look at it and get it sorted out. He even told me that the 3 day return policy would reset to when I picked it up (nothing on paper). He even got me a loaner car and said our vehicle would be the first one in line. Day 3 - I went to work and heard nothing all day... at 6pm I texted our salesman and said I was coming in with the loaner. He immediately called and apologized for the inconvenience and that the service center got really busy today so they weren't able to get to it. He asked if they could have a few more days (therefore going beyond the original 3 day return policy). I declined and asked for our trade back. I arrived around 7pm, a new sales manager started in on everything I heard from the other one the day before. At this point I just wanted my trade back. My salesman never stopped being friendly and showed me some other options on his laptop. I couldn't help but notice a picture of our trade with $5,795 next to it When I got into my car there was green tag hanging on the mirror. It read "Inspect First, either WSTP or Sale". I the long run I'm glad I had this experience. It taught me many lessons about human nature and business. Nelson isn't special like they claim, they're just like every other car dealership out there. If they can screw you, they will.
Jim Wright was a great car salesman. He went above and beyond. He came in on his day off when I brought my car in for the detailing to make sure I was... taken care of. I'm so happy with my purchase and in love with my new CX-5!!❤️
Recently I bought a used car from Steven Jones at Nelson Mazda and I had the best experience and buying a used car with this gentleman . I received excellent... service that was very informative and all my questions were answered and I would definitely buy another used car from Steven Jones again and I recommend talking to Stephen Jones if you are in the market for a new or used Mazda
Was left outside in the heat without anyone offering to help. When they finally did the told me that the price on the car is what you pay, that they don't... negotiate. You just pay what price is on the car. Unbelievable. "Yes, please screw me over and I'll pay whatever you say."
I bought a car from Latta and had a great experience. So far the car is good. Thanks, Latta! Lisa and Autumn. Will go back to Latta if we need another... car!
Thank you Lisa and Autumn! I am so glad to hear you had a wonderful experience at our store and look forward to serving you in the future. Tom Penland... - General Manager 918.527.7132 - cell
Bought my car 11/30/18. My salesman Carlos was great, however I found out Friday evening at dark I had no brights! Also a front parking light out. I... would think having no brights would be a safety issue. I called on the following Monday and let them know, as I didn't want to bother anyone on Saturday. I called 5 days in a row and finally on Friday I was told the Manager said it wasn't a safety issue and they wouldn't fix the bright switch! I'm 61 and have trouble seeing at night and use my brights when at all possible. My daughter and I have been looking for a car for my granddaughter who is turning 16. We saw a couple on line that we liked, at your store, but my daughter refused to even go look after how I was treated. Needless to say, I am disappointed!
Truly a nightmare experience. Horrible car, warranty, and management. The final straw was that the paint was literally ripped off by a simple bumper sticker.... Tom the Manager would take no resposnibility. Nelson says it will “make a believer out of you.” It only made a sucker out of me. Sad!
Overall shopping experience here was very good. We didnt feel pressured to buy which was really refreshing. We did end up buying a used Kia which was in... our budget and the over all condition was very good. It has a couple of small issues one I noticed when we looked at it and they have ordered the part for it and one I didnt notice till later and figured that was on me.
Thank you for the review Robert. We certainly appreciate your business. Tom Penland - General Manager 918.527.7132 - cell
We found the car we liked 2 weeks before we were in a position to buy it. Nelson Mazda went out of their way to accommodate us and held the car. No pressure.... Great pricing and a fair trade in value. Best car buying experience ever.
Thank you for the 5 stars Maggie. We are so happy we were able to meet your needs. Please never hesitate to give us a call. Tom Penland, General Manag...er 918.527.7132 cell
Traveled from the OKC area to Tulsa to purchase this vehicle. Previously, a local dealer in OKC took twice as long to offer half as much for my trade-in... and $3K more for the new car. Yes, the trip was worth it. Jeff Lewis and everyone at the dealership treated us very well.
