2019 Silverado
We bought a newer Silverado. To start with Anthony(sales person)was a pleasure to meet and work with. We have bought many vehicles at many dealerships around the Des Moines area and have never had such a good experience. Anthony and Mike (finance person) really make things easy. We probably only spent a total of a hour and a half there. Half that time was figuring out a price on my trade which they finally agreed to give me what I was asking for it. Thank you to the Karl Chevrolet team.
2019 Silverado
We bought a newer Silverado. To start with Anthony(sales person)was a pleasure to meet and work with. Body shop broke my car TWICE
I had to take my car to Karl twice for hail damage work and both times they broke something. First time I got my car back after being fixed, my side mirror wouldn’t work. Second time, one of my back doors wouldn’t open. I had to work with Kyle who started out nice and polite but became rude and acted annoyed when I called back to let them know they broke something that was working when I’d dropped the car off. He made my insurance company pay to fix the broken door even though it worked just fine when I dropped it off. Seems really shady. The whole experience with Karl Chevrolet was a nightmare and I will never use them again.

I placed a deposit for a new car in early September with the goal of it being delivered after the first of the year. I understood that this would take some planning on the part of Karl?s sales and ordering departments and, ultimately, receiving the car in late February was within my expectations. What didn?t meet my expectations was the complete lack of communication from the sales person as to the progress of my order. I was proactively contacted exactly once by the sales person with an update on my order, and that was when I was informed the car had arrived. Initially I had asked for occasional updates on the status of my order, but after the first 6-8 weeks without an update I contacted the SP to ask for one, at which point I was not given a clear explanation of what status my order was in, so needed to ask for further clarification. Then after another 2-3 weeks I asked again and the SP could not confirm whether my order had been placed. Upon asking further I was provided the estimated build date. The week of that estimated build date I contacted the SP for an update and was informed it was built and ready to ship but no ETA for delivery yet. I understood that delivery date was out of the SP?s hands, but I then had to ask for updates every week, knowing that I would not get one from the SP. After weekly requests for updates, all saying there was no movement, I was called saying it had arrived. Interestingly, when I was waiting to start paperwork, I overheard a different SP calling their customer asking if they would renew their lease a month early because the SP would be rewarded for sales occurring before the end of February. I?m not saying my SP in any way manipulated the delivery time to his advantage, but given the lack of communication up to that point, and hearing proactive communication from another SP to a customer solely to pursue a benefit to themselves just reinforced my sense that Karl?s cares only about sales, not service. Friends and coworkers have asked me where I got my car and, after telling them Karl?s but not sharing my experience, they have each and every one told me they have either had negative sales experiences with Karl?s or heard of others with similar experiences. I would not recommend Karl?s to others as a result of this experience.
