Avoid Carmax!
This is the second car I bought at a Carmax. The first was a Mazda we bought for my wife at the Roswell location. The buying experience was great, so I have been foolishly prejudiced in favor of Carmax since. I just bought a 2017 Corvette at Southlake. The salesman was great -- I liked him a lot. But while we were in the parking lot getting ready to leave, I flipped through some of the screens, and it showed one of the tires was a bit low. As the warning light did not come on, I assumed it was a minor issue. The next day, I tried putting air in the tire, but it was not able to. Another day or so later, I brought it into the Chevy dealer, who found a nail in the tire. These are $800 performance tires, so I called up the dealership to see if they would honor. I was still in the seven day "full cashback return policy" period. But the service man was extremely rude and would not listen to me. He heard me say I found a nail in the tire right away, and tried to pretend the salesman needed to have put it on a list for him to do anything about it. I tried to tell him I discovered the low tire right away but not the nail until a day or two later, but he would not listen. He hung up on me, claiming I was "yelling" at him... when all I was trying to do was get a word in edge-wise. After talking to rude people at both Southlake and Roswell service locations, I talked to the Roswell service manager who continued to claim I had run over the nail myself and "offered" the special deal of allowing me to pay for the tire and installation myself. Really? I took it back to the Chevy dealer and paid them the $800 as I don't want carmax to profit any further. That just meant that the $53,000 CASH I paid for the car was increased by another $800 . Of course, they don't give you any deal for paying a huge amount of cash either! I asked my wife about her experience and she told me she never used there "service." She always took her car to Mazda dealer, and that is why she never had a bad experience with Carmax. I kept the car because I love it. I have dreamed about owning a 'vette since I was a kid, and it was in my favorite color, and with low mileage. I figured even if I returned the car for money back, they would probably charge me for the new tire anyway. (these tires are called "run flat" and can't be fixed). So, in any case, I will never return to Carmax. I found out later that Southlake had high turnover in the service managers, so I suspect this one is ready to go as well. That is what happens when you deal with xxxxxxx trailer trash south of Atlanta!

Do a vehicle inspection or else
My Mother and father was purchasing a lexus ls460 and during the first 3 days of driving the car, they had the car inspected and in the inspection they found, cv axle was leaking and rear shocks where busted. No one at this location from the rude salesperson Doris all the way up to management, showed that they cared that this car had some safety issues and carmax refused to fix the issues. So they returned the car with in the 7 days and will be purchasing a clean lexus from a reputable dealer. The car was being placed back out for sale with serious safety issues. This isnt safe nor is it good practices to have a large box store sell cars in worst shape than buy here pay here lots.

I was sold a lemon!
On 5/28/17. I purchased a 2014 Nissan Sentra from CarMax with 35.496 miles with an extended warranty. As of 7/26/19 my car now needs a new transmission! CarMax will not honor the extended warranty that I paid $1,229 for at purchase. I'm a senior and feel as if I was taken advantage of. I trusted CarMax to sell me a reliable car not to sell me a vehicle that requires a new transmission in less than 100,000 miles.

Toyota camry
My experience wasn’t what I had hoped for. Our salesman was not knowledgeable nor quick. Our cash sale took hours to complete. My car was filthy after I asked to have it detailed. I can’t get an appointment until July 17 to have it properly cleaned of filth grime and broken glass under the seats. Worn edges on tires and wiper blades scraping my windshield. Not a great experience at all.

Good Buying Experiance
I had a great Salesperson in Gerald. I came in and showed him a picture of the car which was at another dealership location. He had moved down quickly. We did the paperwork and I drove out with a full tank of gas. It was great

Service on my SUV
CarMax representatives are very unprofessional. I came in to get my air conditioner fixed and needed a loaner car since rental cars were out of stock. I was told loaner cars are reserved for new customers only. That’s like as a nurse. telling a patient you can’t have your pain meds because we are under staffed. Somethings the customer don’t need to be informed of.
