I have now been to this facility twice in the last two years (once to get an appraisal for a vehicle I ended up selling myself and now (Sept/2018) for... a used vehicle purchase. Both times great, but this most recent was a shockingly easy process throughout with a very good person (Greg Leo) from CarMax. I had a specific need and the car was in CA (I am in TX) and Greg set up delivery, responded to any request I had, and kept me informed at all times of the stages. When I met him for actual purchase, I was in and out of the process (including a trade in) in 2 hours (prob could have done less but we got along well). This IS the way car buying should be done! Period. Great people, great business model. I also used CarMax financing with zero issues (excellent credit) and there is no pressure involved whatsoever (it is built into their process).
My company has done Pinstripes for years in the Service Dept. Great people, great facility, helpful to the Max. Not to mention that they pay in a most... timely fashion. Love this outfit!
Tina helped us get an expedition. The service was amazing and I was very skeptical after hearing bad things about carmax. The whole process couldn’t have... been better. I would highly recommend this carmax.
Carmax makes it easy to quickly buy a used car. However, our transaction was far from hassle-free. They repeatedly used the "this is our policy" phrase... to justify long waits, only one key for the car, no emissions inspection, etc. Service was a hassle too - 1-1/2hr wait each time even though I had an appointment for a minor issue. I'm so glad we didn't buy an extended warranty with them. Our salesperson was fantastic (we were passed off to him by another salesperson). Overall, the entire transaction felt cheap and the 30-day warranty is nothing special. Next time I'll haggle with a dealer and buy something certified pre-owned. Also, they sold us a former rental car and kept telling us they didn't know what type of "fleet" vehicle it was. The waiting areas for service and processing are bright and loud and crowded - don't bring your kids. Our trade-in was undervalued by at least $1,000 (25%) off what another used car dealer in the area was offering. You won't get a good deal here, but the selection is very good.
My husband and I came in after having a tough time at a dealership across the street who were absolutely horrible to us. We were immediatelypl greeted... by Tina And taken outside to get ready for an appraisal, we went back inside and sat with her and vented. Shevery patient and kind and helped us find Plano, TXa perfect car. I appreciate the kindness and honesty from Carmax Plano.
unkept promises, follow up. some salemen good others not. installation of optional leather seats a nightmare. lots of excuses as to why mistakes made.... This is my second Carmax purchase ( the first one at this location) and it will be my last.
Without a doubt this was the best experience I have ever had at a car dealership. My sales rep Kaitlynn guided me to exactly what I was looking for and... then went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied. From the moment I pre approved online within 15 mins I received an immediate phone call from her and followed up next morning with a trip to the dealership. We went through all of my options and did multiple test drives for vehicles that fit my request. Within 2 hours I was driving away in my new purchased vehicle. Even the administrators in the back were kind, friendly and on top of all the paperwork. Not only will I return here but I will continue to influence others to visit as well. Kaitlynn was a superstar today and I could not have asked for anything more. Thanks a million!
Just bought our 4th car from Carmax Plano over the past 6 years. We've sold them two cars too. We bought both teenagers their cars in last 13 months. We... actually used the 5 day return policy on the car before last becasue we thought that something was wrong with the electrical system on that car. I could never recreate the problem for the carmax technician, but I had bad feeling about that particular car. So even though they never even saw the problem (and had no reason to even believe me that something was wrong) they took the car back within the 5 days and gave us our money back. We found another car of same make, model and miles and bought that one instead. I will never go anywhere else. I really really like the people too.
Was sent to Carmax by a car salesman. His place gave me a very low trade end price. Carmax gave me $5000 more. I did go back to the other dealer and buy... their car. Very happy with both places.
I was absolutely stressed out upon entering when I came to Carmax Plano. It had nothing to do with Carmax, but because of a terrible few experiences at... traditional dealerships that had just left me turned off. I sent one email inquiry and was blessed to get a reply from one sales consultant- Jennifer Shannon. And boy was I lucky! Jennifer set an appointment with me immediately and went above and beyond from the time I walked in, to the time I walked out with the keys the very next day. She wanted me to find the car that made me giggle she said- the perfect fit. We looked and looked at cars and test drove some, and then I found the one that made me giggle and decided on a Nissan Altima. She was incredibly personable and considerate; a hospitality and integrity that was unmatched- especially in the car buying industry. I have never experienced car buying so easy! I will never ever venture to a traditional snake ridden dealership again. I am a CarMax customer for life. Set up an appointment with Jennifer Shannon! You won't regret it!
