I came to Anderson Motor Company after finding a great truck on Cargurus. The truck had no photo but was very reasonably priced (more than 2K under blue book). I called to inquire about the vehicle, and Scott gave me all the specifics. He explained the car had hail damage, which was why it was priced so low. I came to check the vehicle out and instantly fell in love with it. The hail damage was extensive, but very hard to see, so it didn't bother me. After a test drive, I expressed my absolute interest in purchasing the vehicle, but let Scott know that I would need a few days to sort out finances, and come back on my next day off to purchase the vehicle. We agreed on a sale price, and I left. Scott then called me the very same day I was intending on coming back to finalize financing and paperwork to inform me a gentleman from out of state was interested in the truck and was offering $500 more than the listed price. I expressed my confusion, as I thought we had already verbally agreed to me purchasing the truck, but nonetheless, told him if he felt that was an appropriate business move, there was nothing I could do about it. He seemed torn with the decision, knowing the right thing to do would have been to honor our agreement and price, but still decided to let the other gentleman have first dibs. STRIKE ONE SCOTT. The sale with the other interested buyer ended up falling through after he had a nearby mechanic look the truck over. Apparently, the man tried to haggle for less than the listed price, so Scott came crawling back to me, offering me a second chance at my dream truck. I was irritated to say the least, but really wanted this truck, so I went back, got my financing taken care of through the dealership, and drove off with my new vehicle. Scott apologized for the manner in which things were handled, and said he would send me a gift card to a nearby restaurant, as a way of apologizing for what he had put me through. Fast forward a week and half - I was down in Moab breaking in my "new truck", and when I came back into service, I had a voicemail from Scott explaining apparently the financing at the bank had not gone through, and I didn't actually OWN the truck I had been driving. Since Scott couldn't seem to do his job, I had to take on the burden of contacting the bank, and trying to fix the problem. STRIKE TWO SCOTT. I work seasonally, and had just started my 4 week unemployment time frame. Due to this, along with all the mistakes made on the dealerships end, I was forced to return the vehicle, due to lack of financing. Frankly, at this point, I was so irritated with how the whole situation was handled, I didn't want to deal with the vehicle anymore. Scott put everything on my plate, and due to the timeline of my unemployment, I no longer had current proof of income that would allow any bank approve me. STRIKE THREE. Flash Forward three months, and I still had not received my gift card in the mail, as Scott had promised me on more than one occasion. I reached out once again to inquire about it, and Scott responded that he "had forgotten"...sure Scott, I believe you.... Last week I FINALLY received an envelope from the dealership, and in it included - wait for it - 2 vouchers for 1 meal of my choice at - yup folks - Zao Asian Cafe. Last time I checked, high end "fast food" joints aren't what I would call a restaurant. The best part - they expire 20 days after I receiving them... I can tell he put a lot of thought and effort into my horrendous experience with this dealership. I waited to write this review for nearly 5 months, but now that Scott finally “came through" with his promise, I felt the need to share my experience. This is a family run business, and Scott has just taken over. I hope his grandfather isn't around to see how he is handling this business..... HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND – Will NEVER recommend this place solely based on how the new owner in charge does business.

Hi Janelle - First of all we want to thank you for your feedback. Your feedback helps us improve and refine our process. Second, we are sincerely sorry. Sorry for any inconvenience that we may have caused you. Janelle, we really wanted you to own your 2008 Chevrolet Silverado dream truck. We tried everything in our power to get your loan finalized. We gave you the keys and took your word on your stated income as the credit union approved you... with 'proof of income stipulation.' The only reason why your loan wasn't finalized is because you misrepresented your actual income. In response to your concerns or "strikes", I would like to share our side of the story for you and others who may be reading this review. In response to strike 1, You mentioned that we called to inform you another customer wanted to buy the truck. That is true. Because you didn't have a holding deposit on this truck we gave you a courtesy call to see if you were 100% committed to purchasing it. At that point, you gave us permission to let this other customer have a chance. He indeed had the truck inspected and chose not to proceed due to a few issues which I disclosed to you. Because he chose not to buy the truck, I called stating what happened and that it was still available for you to purchase. We understand that going back and forth may have seemed like a trick or gimmick; which would be frustrating if that was the case. This definitely was not the case, but I sensed this was frustrating to you so at that point I offered you a courtesy gift card. In response to strike 2, we tried everything in our power to get your loan finalized. We called and left voice messages many times to receive your proof of income. After we exhausted all of our resources and efforts on our end with multiple credit unions, they explained that your employment income was insufficient to purchase this truck. After doing everything we could we suggested you go to the credit union location in person to try and finalize the loan. We also suggested for you to try other banks and credit unions. (I'm sorry that came across as "putting everything on your plate." We were just suggesting other options that have worked for customers in the past.) In conclusion, your loan could not be finalized because your stated income did not match your actual income. In response to strike 3, I am sorry it took us time to send your gift cards and I'm sorry they didn't meet your restaurant expectations. After receiving the truck from you with more than 2000 miles, not filled with gas, and having to pick it up from your friend we were a little frustrated on our end. We spent lots of time and never collected a dime. Rather than asking for anything in return, we chose to just let it go, move on, and as promised we still gave you gift cards. We have learned from this transaction and have put things in place to prevent future issues. Once again we value your feedback and are always looking for ways to improve.
AMAZING HONEST SERVICE!
I just bought my 5th car from Anderson Motor. I can’t believe how honest and straightforward they are! They price matched my latest car and I saved $1,000. I would recommend them to everyone!

Beware of What Lies Beneath
Let me preface this by saying the people of Anderson are good. We experienced no problems working with them during our buying experience, which we appreciate. Our problems started a few years after we bought our $23000 SUV. We were shocked when our driver's side doors began splitting open and the surface began falling off in pretty large chunks of bondo and paint. After taking it to a trusted body shop it was apparent to them that our car had some extensive hidden damage from a previous collision - and was repaired poorly to boot. After talking with a neighbor, who owns a car dealership in the Salt Lake area, the neighbor suggested we contact Anderson even though we bought the car years ago. He explained that if he sent a car out the door that did that, he'd fix it! I did call Anderson once the first door opened up, and they were very sympathetic to our situation, but kinda hesitant to do anything about it beyond the sympathy part. We eventually did come to an agreement where I would pay for a replacement door and they would get a shop to install it. I got to where I was OK with that. But then the other door opened up, and there may be some hidden damage all the way back into the quarter panel. Basically we're just frustrated and disappointed is all. We'll eventually have to pay someone to repair the auto the correct way, but we'll live with the ugly cracking and damage for now. We're not mad at anyone or anything (except ourselves for buying a collision auction car!). We were given the Carfax and were told over and over about how clean the Carfax was. But - we obviously still didn't quite get the SUV we thought we were getting at Anderson.

No pressure sales. They will change the way you think of used car sales. Good low mileage vehicle is all they have. Thanks Scott for getting me in to a really good 2016 F150. I will definitely recommend Anderson Motor to anyone loooking for a good car or truck at a really fair price.

5 Star Family Owned and Operated Service
Buying from Anderson Motor Company was an amazing experience. Family owned and operated service. I was dreading the process of buying a car because of all the haggling, hidden fees, and dishonesty associated with the car buying process. I called the day before we came in to see if they had the car we were looking for. Scott was very knowledgable about each car on his lot, and was very friendly. The next morning when we went to go look at the cars that were available at the dealership and found all the cars were clean, orderly, and well kept. Scott was very kind, not the typical "Used Car Salesman", and willing to work with us to find a car that fit our needs, and worked with us on the pricing to be extremely competitive, and genuinely cared about our situation. I have never had a car buying experience like this. I would HIGHLY recommend looking at Anderson Motor Company it was a surprisingly pleasant experience.

Not the Typical Car Dealer
When looking for a second vehicle for our family, the important thing to me was the make and color. I knew I wanted a Hyundai Santa Fe, and that it had to be RED. My sweet husband looked up these 2 specifics and through the miracle of the Internet, we found Anderson Motor Comany in Salt Lake City. During our browsing about, I saw another car on the lot which was a Toyota Camry that piqued my interest. My husband was very excited about it and after a test drive we decided to buy IT instead of the red Santa Fe. The next morning as I drove my son to school in Park City, I was lamenting the decision. As a long time Hyundai Tucson owner, I missed being up above the ground. I felt like I was down on the asphalt, and my back was getting a bit wrenched (aging process and all). I called Scott and sheepishly admitted my buyer's remorse and that I really wanted the red Santa Fe. He was so flexible about returning the Camry and accommodacted my First World Problem. I'm now the happy owner of my RED Hyundai Santa Fe! Seriously, don't go to those big new car dealership for your used car needs. These guys are awesome, and pleasant to work with. They aren't the the stereo-typical independent used car sales guys. Their business looks like a kitchen/living room of a million dollar home, complete with a warm fire in the fireplace and snacks for the hungry daughter. I will ALWAYS go to SCOTT ANDERSON at ANDERSON MOTOR COMPANY for my cars.

Great Buying Experience
We were very happy with our truck purchase from Anderson Motor Co. Scott and his dad were both super helpful and extremely easy to work with. We had a tight window to get things done, and they were very accommodating. No pressure and no hassle. These guys are extremely knowledgeable and personable. Overall, the most positive experience we've had buying a vehicle. We will probably purchase our next vehicle from these guys.

trustworthy dealers
Scott was very reasonable with me, was very honest about the car he even printed out the Carfax. I'm happy i came here cause not most small dealers tell you the truth, they just want to sell cars and make money and just give you a crappy car. If you want to buy a used or new car I would come here again. Very cool people. I'm happy with my car no problems just one minor but fixable. Everything was well taken care of
