I brought my Mini in with a free diagnostic coupon, having been a loyal customer for 6 years. I worked with Daniel Martinez because of a slight ticking noise, which I suspected might be the spark plugs. Daniel confirmed the plugs were fine, but the rest of the experience was incredibly frustrating. Throughout my visit, I felt constantly pressured to authorize additional inspections and services. I had to repeat myself three or four times, stating I only wanted to diagnose the ticking noise so I could prioritize repairs. While Daniel was polite, the aggressive upselling made me put my guard up. I left my car on Friday morning, and though the mechanic sent a video pointing out other issues, he couldn’t identify the source of the ticking. After playing phone tag, Daniel informed me on Monday that it would cost an additional $450 just to "explore" the cause of the noise—and that fee would not go toward the actual repair. I declined and picked up my car, only to be subjected to yet another upsell attempt for air filters. The lack of expertise and constant sales pressure completely eroded my trust. On my drive home from Pleasanton to Oakland, the slight ticking escalated into a severe, full knock. I texted Daniel immediately to voice my concerns but received absolutely no response. The following week, I took my car to an independent specialist in German cars. Within two and a half hours, they diagnosed the issue perfectly: a failing water pump was disrupting belt tension and causing the knock. The diagnostic fee was a reasonable $103 (waived if repaired there), and the service was entirely pressure-free. The contrast was night and day. As a 6-year customer, I expected to be valued and respected. Instead, I felt like a target for upsells. I will never bring my car back to East Bay Mini.

It is the BEST service center we have ever been in our lives!!! In terms of staff knowledge and courteousness-topnotch. Will and Jeff went above and beyond to help us with our Mini Cooper brake pads. to make things more impressive, they CLEANED the car after the service. They notified us on time and did the best they could to help us with our concerns. If only Mini has a SUV, I would give up my Ford Explorer ST so I could avoid dealing with other service centers. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!!

Friendly service (from sales to Finance to the Service department) and quality work. For some reason after 300 miles my tires lost air and the dash said to bring in the car to the service department. So that's what I did. My wait was quick and the waiting area had chairs/tables spaced 6 feet apart--which I appreciated.

The service department is thorough, friendly and efficient. They kept me informed through the time the car was being serviced, including a short video of the battery diagnostic that was run.

I was shopping around for a new Mini Cooper and contacted a few dealerships in my area. From the initial contact my sales person Jakob and the manager Phil were super helpful and responsive to my questions even before I went in for a test drive. I knew that I'd love my Mini but the experience was made better by the East Bay Mini team. I was able to trade in my vehicle at the same time and the whole process was transparent and hassle free. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a Mini!
