Part 1 I purchased a used 2016 toyota tacoma from the chevy dealer in Salinas on memorial day 2018. Purchased the red alert system and extended protection... warranty. I was told by finance representative A that these items could be cancelled if I changed my mind later. So I purchased both. Few weeks later I called to schedule the appointment since they never called me as they said they would to have the red alert system installed. I spent 3 hrs waiting in the service department for the installation or so I thought at the time. It turns out, however, that the technician was unable to install system because he didnt know how to install it on a toyota tacoma and didnt have the proper tools or so I was told. LOL really! I was frustrated at the same time it took 3 hours to find out they couldn't install it wow. I didnt expect that from an actual fully established chevy dealership. But I guess in Salinas you can expect anything. So since I was initially told that the system was cancellable I walked over to the finance dept. to cancel it. Well not so fast there, according to finance representative B, stated that the red alert system is not cancellable, even if it hasn't been installed. SOS help! So what now, I cannot cancel it and they can't install it either. Why did they sell it to me? Why dont they hire fully qualified technicians? Why do finance rep. A and finance rep. B have conflicting terms? It must be about the money, and not so much about the customer. Part 2 gets even better.
Followup 2-9-28 Shadow pick me up at 2:40pm. Car runs well. But there is 22 miles added to my car from when I dropped it off yesterday. There was 3 repairs... but 22 Mi seems extensive or testing....

My only concern about the customer service is that I have to call them back when I want to ask whether or only my vehicle is finished. out of the 4 or... 5 oil changes plus light repair I had them do I was never called when my car was complete

Car was in for an oil change and to find and fix a rattle. dealer did not find or fix rattle

I called that morning to see if I could walk-in and the service person was able to get me in. Not only that they promised my car in an hour and it was... ready in exactly an hour. The customer service staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. "|"
