Customer service at Cavender Toyota on 7/13/2026 was EXTREMELY poor. It started with EXTREMELY poor service from the service bay attendant. We continued to receive EXTREMELY poor service from Kobe Cardenas. And then we received more EXTREMELY poor service from Ernesto Valdez. The issue was multiple dashboard warning lights caused by electric water pump.

After owning 9 Toyota/Lexus vehicles since 2017, I can honestly say the brand has completely lost the reliability and customer service it was once known for. My 2026 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition with barely 6,000 miles has already needed major brake work, rotors, pads, and a window repair. Then I was told the brake issue was “a Toyota problem” — yet the dealership sells and services Toyotas. Not one manager from Cavender Toyota ever even called me. I even contacted Toyota corporate and opened a case, but still nothing. That tells me everything I need to know about how little they care once they have your money. What makes it worse is I was originally told my brakes were squeaking, leading to the repair, but later told Toyota already knew the brakes squeak in reverse. I never personally heard squeaking at all. Makes you wonder how much unnecessary service customers are being sold. Shame on me for staying loyal to the brand this long. Do yourself a favor before buying a Tundra — research the growing problems and customer complaints first. I’ll never buy another Toyota or Lexus again. Buyer beware.

Thank you for your reviews, Mr. Harris. We certainly understand the frustrations you feel with your vehicle, and we're genuinely disappointed to read that those feelings have taken aim at our dealership. Please know we have appreciated the dialogue to work with you to help in resolving your concerns, and as a devoted customer of many years, we absolutely value your business and loyalty. Thank you, Kevin Epley - Customer Relations Manager - (210) 468-4847
Thank you Paya Vila for being my salesman today. You were awesome. Love my RAV4. I pulled in there this morning in the middle of a thunderstorm determined to get a car today. You didn’t hesitate to jump right in to assist me. I appreciated your professionalism, knowledge in the car I was wanting to buy, and your overall calmness about you. Thank you so very much. I wish you the best.

Brenda, thank you for choosing Cavender Toyota and for sharing your experience working with Paya Vila! We are so grateful to have you as a customer and we hope you enjoy your new Toyota RAV4 for many miles to come.
I'd give negative stars if I could. In SEPT 2025 my engine light came on. Had a diagnostic ran and it came back an emissions error. OCT 2025, I received a notice mail about the fuel pumps being bad. That same month I scheduled to bring my car in and have the fuel pump replaced. After the replacement my car continued to stall while driving and my engine light remained on. I went back to Cavender 2 days later & requested they look at the fuel pump again as I was still having issues. They refused and stated they wouldn't look at my car unless I paid their almost $300.00 diagnostic fee. Not only was the tech condescending but a complete xxx and clearly wasn’t interested in helping me. I refused to pay a fee to have them look over the work they JUST did two days ago. I then spent 5 months trying to figure out why my vehicle was consistently losing power and shutting down ON THE FREEWAY, which is exceptionally dangerous. 5 months of working w/my mechanic only to learn in FEB 2026 it was the xxxxing fuel pump the entire time. I ended up taking my car to North Park Toyota and they happily fixed Cavinders shotty work. After reporting this to Cavender I was brushed off by several of their staff and dismissed. They even went as far as to dismiss my mechanic and the work he put in because he is not a corporation, but a small business owner and they didn’t like the way his documents looked. Their constant rebuttals were: - “You refused your second diagnostic” - “How do we know your mechanic didn’t replace the fuel pump himself?” - “How do we know he didn’t displace the fuel pump during his diagnostics?” - “Since this was a warranty repair you weren’t charged for the repairs – it must’ve been a faulty part.” They offered me a single diagnostic reimbursement. Which is absolutely disgusting considering their xxxxty work could have cost me and my family our xxxxing lives with how often my car would stall out while driving & North Park Toyota confirmed they warranty repair work they did was in fact due to improper installation on their part. In hindsight- I'm grateful I didn't have Cavander run that diagnostic. They more than likely would have fixed their xxxxty work, kept my money, & lied it was another defective part like the scam artists they are so they could then charge me for additional services. I will never purchase or step foot into Cavander and advise others to do the same.

My husband and I had a great experience purchasing our 2026 Tundra iForce Max TRD Pro from Cavender Toyota! We initially spoke with Rebekah Gonzales who kept us informed on the weekly pricing of the vehicle and answered all of the questions I had as I thought of them, because we couldn't look at the vehicle for almost a month after first speaking with Rebekah. Discussions with Rebekah and all of her help sent us to Cavender's where we worked with Aaron Obregon. Aaron went above and beyond to show us the vehicle we were interested in, take it for a test drive, assess our trade-in for a very reasonable trade-in value, speak clearly and to the point, ultimately selling us on the truck. We ran into a little issue that Aaron took the time to work through with us. Aaron even went to the service department to discuss the tonneau cover we wanted and determine pricing and install. Huge thank you to Rebekah Gonzales and Aaron Obregon. We really appreciated your assistance and professionalism.

Groff, congratulations on your 2026 Tundra iForce Max TRD Pro! It sounds like Rebekah and Aaron made your experience seamless. Thank you for choosing Cavender Toyota!
I am extremely frustrated with my experience. I took my car in for an oil change and full service on Tuesday. I bought this car less than six months ago, and during the service their own advisor told me that all four tires are dry-rotted and need to be replaced. Tristan initially told me my concern would be escalated. On Wednesday I spoke with John Chandler from the internet department, who told me he would send my information to David Dickinson and that Mr. Dickinson would reach out to me. After waiting several days, Mr. Dickinson finally contacted me on Friday morning. During that conversation he stated that two of the tires had supposedly been replaced before the vehicle was sold to me. However, when I checked my tires, all four have the same 2022 manufacture date, which raises serious questions. What are the odds that the tires were replaced yet all have the same date? And how would they already be dry-rotted less than six months after I purchased the vehicle, especially if two were supposedly replaced? Later that same day, about 20 minutes before the end of the office day, Mr. Dickinson reached out again saying he had “figured out who my service providers were.” This was extremely frustrating because I could have told him that information immediately. He also said he needed to review the advisor videos and would get back to me, which just adds another delay to a situation that has already taken far too much time. I am a very busy person juggling two jobs while also being a student, and I feel like my time is being wasted trying to get someone to simply listen and address this issue. I specifically chose to purchase from a dealership because I believed a certified pre-owned vehicle would go through a proper inspection so I wouldn’t have to deal with problems like this. Instead, I’ve been passed from person to person, with several people telling me the issue isn’t their responsibility. I’ve remained polite and tried to follow the proper chain of communication, but it feels like I’m being dismissed and not taken seriously. At this point, the lack of accountability and communication is beyond frustrating and completely unprofessional.

I took my car for an oil change. I never received a video of it been serviced. Which I always do. It took from 8am to 4:45pm and no call. I had to call them. They tore my spoiler off the car and told me it was there when I left the garage. Of course they will not cover the charge and admit they did the damage. I cannot believe a company like Cavender Toyota did this and not fix my car. I will not be returning to Cavender Toyota. Also there was not pre-check which there always is.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. However, I would like to clarify a couple of details here. We provided you with a picture of your vehicle departing the dealership with the spoiler intact. Therefore, Cavender could not have been responsible for tearing off the spoiler while the vehicle was in your possession away from the dealership. You confirmed with me that you did receive the video I emailed to you. Would you please contact me? Thank you, Kevin Epley - Customer Relations Manager - (210) 468-4847.
