On March 31, 2026, Barbee’s Freeway Ford of Denver sold

On March 31, 2026, Barbee’s Freeway Ford of Denver sold me an $80K truck with no title and no disclosure of that fact. The VISOR VIN app declared that the truck had been for sale for a full 30 days when I purchased it, but I guess BFF never intended to title the truck in their name. On April 13th, when I attempted to register the truck in my state of Arizona, I was told I must have a paper title from BFF. I contacted salesman Shawn Tuggle, and his text response was simply that “…it takes time to get a title.” That is not true when you legally own the vehicle you are selling, because you already hold the title. A BFF title clerk called, and she told me it could take weeks to get the title, and if my CO temp tags expired on May 29th, they could be extended. Later that day, Shawn texted that I would receive a call from “Joe the sales manager”. Neither Joe nor any other BFF representative (other than the title clerk) ever called with explanation, update, or apology. CO Revised Statute 42-6-112 requires that a dealership deliver a title to the customer within 30 days. At 30 days, the title still wasn’t delivered, and I filed a criminal report with the CO Department of Revenue. By May 14th, BFF still had not delivered a title and were in violation of the law, and my CO temporary tags were fast approaching the May 29th expiration. A criminal investigator with the CO DOR informed me that temporary tags cannot be extended for out-of-state sales, contrary to the lie that the BFF title clerk told. That would leave me with no legal vehicle to operate. Salesman Shawn Tuggle sold me the truck knowing that I was purchasing it from Arizona with the intent of immediately travelling the country full-time with a travel trailer, yet at no point did he or any other representative of BFF disclose that the truck had title issues and that these issues would become mine. As a result, the cross-try RV travel that I purchased the truck for would be foolish to commence. Escalating the situation didn’t help. My emails to Director of Operations Brent Danner on April 14 and May 14 were ignored, as were May 14th emails to sales and financing managers Doug Lawrence, Ron Garretsen, and Joe Bejarano. Apparently, avoiding difficult topics gets one promoted at BFF. It was not until May 20th, fifty-two days post sale, that BFF delivered a title that should have been delivered at the time of sale. The stress and limitations that FF had caused were very real. I regret buying from Barbee’s Freeway Ford of Denver, but I’m sure they have no regrets. They have the eighty thousand, four hundred six dollars and seventy cents that I paid in cash. Mr. Tuggle has his commission, and management was comfortable ignoring me and the hardship they caused. Why not, it takes time to get the title, right Shawn? The CO DOR informed me that BFF would be receiving a warning letter.

At first, they seemed like honest people, then they showed their true colors. Sean T said he could get windows tinted for the purchase, then when reminded of that, said tinting can be done and he would quote us a price. Then the parts guy told us the van came with a factory installed grab handle per the vehicle VIN,, then after talking to the sales guy Sean, said it didnt come with a handle and claimed it costs $89+ when the window sticker for OMeara Ford shows the handle is $25.

I purchased a car that needed a recall inspection and repair. Took it into Barbee ford within 2 weeks of purchase. While they had my car - they damaged the windshield and broke the door they were supposedly doing the recall on. I have email correspondence where they admit to it and refuse to pay. The service manager and the director of operations said that because a rock hit the windshield while they were driving my car to the body shop, it was not their fault. Obviously since they were driving - it is their fault. I took my car to another ford dealership who confirmed Barbee Freeway Ford was responsible for the damage to my door and charged Barbee Ford for the damage. This is the worst service I have ever received and I do not recommend anyone take their cars there. Happy to share the email chain with anyone. Already sent it to the BBB and the AG.

STAY AWAY!

STAY AWAY!!!! Absolutely the worst service I have ever received. 8 month old truck, fully under warranty, and Marcos was going to charge $240 just to look at a seat belt warning and it would take him 4 days to diagnose, even when I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance. They are thieves and do not deserve anyone's business.

I bought my truck here and so I felt some loyalty to them--salesman was pretty decent. His manager not so much. As I thought about this; the low-ball trade-in allowance and the lying finance manager--I know the next truck won't be from here! Worse yet was the service experience I just recently had as the service writer completely disregarded my experience and input. I walked away and immediately made an appointment with Phil Long--hope it's better.

Horrible experience.

Horrible experience. We made an appointment to purchase a truck and drove 2 hours to find out upon pulling up that the manager sold it out from under us 15 minutes before we got there. Their complete lack of integrity and follow through is the worst kind of accurate when you think of a car dealer. Such terrible business tactics.

I was a supporter of Ford, 40 years owning them, parents

I was a supporter of Ford, 40 years owning them, parents owned them, kids etc. I will never purchase another Ford ever! Their service Center at Freeway Ford in Denver are the best at ripping people off! The customer service line at Ford Coporate will side with them stating since each dealership is privately owned they cannot help you with any issue you bring to them. I had my engine light go off, I had the code and it stated clutch B Acuator. I called the service center which is really a rip off person well trained. I asked if they do pick up on the vehicles and they said yes and provided me with their tow company name. Also told me they would not be able to see my car for a week and had no loaners. If you Google the issue I’m talking about, you will see it was a safety recall item. When the car arrived at the service center, Marcos called me and told me I now owe $768 . Had not even looked at my car. After my call with Ford Coporate and Marcos where they simply said they can’t control anything the rip off people do, suddenly within the hour my car was diagnosed and the estimate for repai was $5000! That’s right $5000. I went and paid the rip off money and drove my car home and ordered the part for $29, spent 30 mins installing it and wow, the car is miraculously fixed. Engine light turned off and the car is working perfectly!

It was easy to negotiate the deal.

It was easy to negotiate the deal. The price on the web ad was acceptable to me and they came up on the trade in to meet what I needed. There was a problem with the car that delayed delivery and required Ford service to get involved. But other than that the deal went very smoothly.
