Purchased a used Honda Civic through Emich Chevrolet. After requesting information on the vehicle, I was connected with Angel who helped us through the entire process. Angel was incredibly helpful and kind and he went above and beyond to make our car-buying experience as painless as possible. He stayed well past closing to make sure everything was taken care of and we were satisfied with our purchase and the process. When a random tire light came on on our way home and Angel was contacted the next day, he responded quickly and got us set up for a quick check with the service department. The issue was corrected and the car has been great ever since. Really appreciate Angel's laid-back and helpful demeanor - we never felt pressured or hurried in our decision. Would highly recommend working with Angel if you are in the market for a new vehicle. My only complaint is that due to the popularity of the vehicle we were looking at (used Honda Civic with lower mileage), there was no ability to work a better deal on the car.

Very disappointing experience after purchasing a used vehicle. I purchased a “new to us” vehicle from Emich Chevrolet on June 9th. During the purchase process, I specifically expressed concerns about the condition and tread depth of the tires. I was shown an inspection report that had been completed approximately 1,000 miles before our purchase, showing the tires at 5/32", 6/32", 7/32", and 8/32". I understood that I was purchasing a used vehicle and that some tire wear was to be expected, but I still raised the concern because I felt the tires were questionable. Shortly after the purchase, we had a radiator issue that was fortunately covered under warranty. When the vehicle was at another Chevrolet dealership for that repair, their inspection found two tires at 3/32" and recommended replacing the tires and having an alignment performed. I subsequently had the tires checked independently at Discount Tire and Les Schwab. The results confirmed two tires at 3/32" and two at 5/32". At that point, my concern wasn't simply that the tires needed to be replaced. It was that I had specifically raised the issue before purchasing the vehicle and the dealership never offered to perform a fresh inspection at the time of sale. I questioned how tires that were supposedly 5/32"-8/32" approximately 2,300 miles earlier could now measure 3/32"-5/32". I asked the dealership to work with me to find a reasonable solution. After some back and forth, management asked me directly what I felt would be fair. I explained that I planned to replace all four tires for approximately $1,300 and asked for $650 toward the cost, representing the two tires that were measuring at 3/32". I was willing to absorb the cost of the other two tires myself. The response was simply that they would provide no compensation whatsoever. There was no counteroffer, goodwill gesture, additional inspection, or meaningful attempt to find a middle ground. What disappointed me most was not necessarily that they wouldn't pay for four new tires. I understand that I purchased a used vehicle. What disappointed me was the lack of ownership and the unwillingness to work toward a reasonable resolution after I had raised the concern before the sale. I was told during the buying process about the positive culture at Emich and how they value taking care of their customers. Unfortunately, my experience after the sale did not reflect that message. I also do not intend to simply let this end with Emich Chevrolet. I plan to escalate my concerns to General Motors/Chevrolet corporate because I would have a difficult time believing that Chevrolet would want a customer driving a vehicle with tires that multiple tire/service facilities have identified as being at or near an unsafe tread depth. My concern isn't about getting something for free—it's about whether the vehicle was appropriately represented and whether a legitimate safety concern is being taken seriously. The warranty repair itself was handled, but the way my concerns about the tires were handled afterward left a very poor impression. I expected more from a dealership that talks about customer service and standing behind its customers. Based on my experience, I would have a difficult time recommending Emich Chevrolet and would strongly encourage anyone purchasing a used vehicle to have an independent inspection performed before signing the paperwork.

Ryan, thank you for taking the time to share your experience in such detail. We want to respond honestly and respectfully. We do take your concern seriously and we appreciate that you approached this conversation in a reasonable and measured way throughout. Here is where we stand on the facts. At the time of your purchase on June 9th, the tires were inspected and documented at 5/32", 6/32", 7/32", and 8/32" — all of which exceed the minimum legal safety standard of 2/32". Those measurements were shared with you in full before you signed the paperwork. You raised your concern, were shown the inspection report, and made the decision to move forward with the purchase. That decision was yours to make with complete transparency of the vehicle’s condition in front of you. We want to be candid about the tire wear question you raised. A decrease of 2/32"–3/32" over approximately 2,300 miles is within the range of normal wear depending on driving habits, road conditions, alignment, and tire type. We are not in a position to accept responsibility for wear that occurred after the vehicle left our lot, particularly when the tires were documented at safe levels at the time of sale. We also want to acknowledge something directly. You asked us what we thought was fair and we asked you the same question. You came back with a reasonable ask. We understand that our answer was disappointing and we respect that. Our position was based on the documentation and the fact that the vehicle was sold transparently and in good faith — not a lack of care for you as a customer. We genuinely wish this experience had a different outcome. We stand behind our inspection process and the integrity of this transaction, and we will respond to any GM escalation with the same facts and documentation. We appreciate your business and hope you will give us the opportunity to earn your trust back in the future. Mike Luebbers General Sales Manager
2300 miles driven in which 1000 of those miles were still done while in possession of the dealer on the lot. Was a fresh inspection offered at the time of the sale? Absolutely not! The tires that are on the vehicle are Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tires and 2300 miles driven should not account for 2-3/32” per many professionals in the tire business and my conversations with Michelin directly. Keep in mind, the inspection was done 1000 miles prior to purchase.
Staff was very immature. Everyone just standing around the showroom floor. Finance person makes mistakes and customer has to pay the price.

I like this dealership. Locally owned and operated not a national chain. No pressure sales tactics here. Sales staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase. Sales professional Grant Cooprider was exactly as his title describes. Special thanks to sales manager Sawyer Weiler and Lou Haddad for outstanding communication. A special shout out to Nora in finance who made the process so pleasurable. Highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a new or used car. Thanks Emich Chevrolet!
