Write a reviewPlease note this dealership violates New Mexico State
Please note this dealership violates New Mexico State laws, intentionally omits information, misrepresents the value of their vehicles, and then does nothing to try and make the situation right after screwing you over. Don’t trust them and definitely don’t buy any vehicles from them. They will lie to you, break the law by omitting information they are legally required to disclose, and then they will dismiss you. Don’t bother with this place. They will screw you over and have zero integrity about it. They also have multiple Google pages and hide bad reviews so they’ll probably hide this one like they hid my other one. I have filed official complaints with the NM DOJ and BBB consumer complaints departments so hopefully someone will help me get my car fixed since this dealership broke the law and is refusing to do the right thing. For more context, while this dealership had my Subaru in their possession before they put it up for sale, they paid a mechanic to have an aftermarket catalytic converter welded into place, which was not disclosed to me on the carfax report in writing and violates the New Mexico unfair trade practice act. They disclosed that a catalytic converter was replaced, but not that an aftermarket catalytic converter that didn’t fit the vehicle correctly was welded into place, which has caused ongoing issues with the emissions system. University Mazda was so ignorant of what was going on that they had to call the mechanic shop THEY took the vehicle to, and authorized repairs at, to verify what was even done when I brought my vehicle in on 01-26-26. They apparently didn’t have anything in writing themselves which proves that I was never provided key information in writing that significantly changes the value of the vehicle and the agreements in which I purchased and financed this vehicle under. All I asked of this dealership was for them to pay for the vehicle to be fixed correctly at fiesta Subaru in Albuquerque with a Subaru standard catalytic converter. Bob, the regional manager, who was incredibly rude, dismissive, and frankly misogynistic and condescending, said my only option was to take it back to the same repair shop University Mazda took it to to have the same kind of aftermarket catalytic convert welded into place, because that was apparently the only option free to myself and University Mazda. I explained to Bob this wasn’t a legitimate resolution as the “repair” that was done in wasn’t done correctly and was not disclosed to me, and I don’t want the same thing done. I want a correct, legitimate fix done as this dealership permanently altered the emissions system of the vehicle I purchased and did not disclose it to me in writing, which devalued the vehicle by at least $5,000. They also never had an emissions inspection done after they paid to have the emissions system modified, so they essentially sold me a car without a working emissions system which is illegal and they refused to do the right thing and pay to have the car fixed correctly. I am at a point where less than 6 months after financing this vehicle I have to pay at least $5,000 before June just so I can get the vehicle to pass emissions tests and update the registration. They also sold me a warranty that does not cover emissions issues after all of this, lmao. So I just want future buyers to be aware that this business and Bob, the regional manager, don’t care about New Mexico State emissions laws or having any sort of integrity when they make a mistake. So Bob, I can’t make you do the right thing and fix my vehicle. But I can make sure other people don’t end up having to deal with you, your misogynistic and gross attitude, or your dealership in general and the dishonesty and lack of integrity I have experienced. I hope Bob has the day he deserves and I hope anyone reading takes my review into consideration and will consider going to a dealership that is willing to have integrity and not break the law.

Big 'Thank you's!
Big 'Thank you's!' to salesperson Mariah for helping with every phase of our Mazda 3 purchase and Chelvin for his personable, sincere, straightforward presentation of great options for extended coverage. Although we opted to decline extra coverage & accessories for this purchase, Mariah and Chelvin empowered us and showed us that our decisions were not only respected, but welcomed. Both of these young professionals communicate proficiently, which we found surprising and refreshing after interacting with sales people at other dealerships for other makes. We drove four hours to make this purchase and it was worth every mile and minute: easiest and most pleasant car-buying experience we've ever had. We've never owned a Mazda (or VW) before, and thanks to Mariah and Chelvin, we intend to make this our "family dealership" for our growing extended family across neighboring states. Five stars isn't enough... they deserve more!

I wanted to thank Jadyn Rodriguez for her excellent
I wanted to thank Jadyn Rodriguez for her excellent customer service. My son and I were in the market for a new car and she was very helpful. I feel badly that we did not end up buying from the dealership. Had we lived in Albuquerque, your dealership would have been our first choice, all because of Jadyn. She is very professional and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend her for those looking to buy a new car.

Go elsewhere for service.
Worst service department ever. They do not communicate, and the associates have no customer service skills. You buy a new car and it needs repairs but the parts on are back order with no ETA. I have been a Volkswagen owner most of my life, and have had two new SUVs that are crap!

Great experience very professional
My wife and had a canceled flight so we were renting a car to drive home. We were driving by chose to look at a used car that caught our eye. The sales associate was very helpful. The staff from financing to detail were great. They were upfront on pricing and anything that was wrong with the used vehicle (which was very minor). My wife and I took a chance and bought the vehicle. The staff took care of the sale quickly so we could continue our long drive home. It was the best long drive home we ever had. This dealership knows what they are doing and ubive all honest and forthcoming.

Negligence when it comes to Safety
I am no longer allowed to bring my vehicle to this location." Words said by Charles, the parts manager. This was over $165 for tires. My alignment for my car was off due to me having hit a pothole. My fault 100%. I brought it here to have it fixed. I was told I needed a shock mount and control arm, both of which would equal over $2k.I order them before the summer. However they never came in and four months later I needed new tires due to wear and tear. After some calls and months of me asking if they were in, Charles said I did not need the parts I ordered. Not only that, but they were the wrong parts and for the wrong end of the car! What? We had a somewhat heated discussion in which he said, "did we tell you to drive the car?" And also, "we are not the ones who hit the pothole." Not the best responses. He wanted to charge me $165 for the tires even though had the parts come in, though I didn't need them apparently, I would not need new tires. Essentially I spent thousands of dollars on rentals because I also work out of state alot and could not use my vehicle as well as them making a crucial mistake in safety. I did not pay the $165. Am I wrong? Maybe. But I think charging people due to someone else's mistakes isn't right

Can’t fix my car
I was guaranteed my oil leak would be fixed. $2,700 and 3 visits later they want another $2,100 because they didn’t fully diagnose it to begin with. No loaner cars available - no matter how inconvenient it is to you. I was someone that would be a potential repeat VW buyer within the next 1-2 years but I’m currently disappointed in the quality and my experience at this service center.

⛔️⛔️WARNING⛔️⛔️ Don’t buy from university
⛔️⛔️WARNING⛔️⛔️ Do NOT purchase a vehicle from Jewel. Very unprofessional. Please seek other sales member or dealership in the Albuquerque area. She will waste your time. I was very interested in purchasing a vehicle from university. I looked around at many dealers in Albuquerque looking for the right car and I finally found it at university. I was mislead about the car purchase. I thought we had a deal going on but she didn’t nothing to help. All she did was run my credit multiple times and never gave me any information even after multiple calls and unanswered texts. When I called the next day and spoke to another salesperson I was informed the car I was looking into was sold. All they did was run my credit and sell the car from under me. Took them three days to do nothing for me. I take pride in my credit so for them to do me dirty like that. It just breaks my heart so if you don’t want your heart broken PLEASE look a different dealership where Jewel doesn’t work at.

Shady Dealer
I offered to sell my like new car to this dealership via contact from TrueCar.com and was quoted a sale price contingent on inspection. The inspection was as I had represented the vehicle (it is new, after all) but when I brought in the car the dealership then refused to honor the price they had texted me 24 hours earlier. Bottom line -- this dealership's word is not trustworthy.
