Went with a friend to buy a F150. For the trade in they offered me we had a disagreement about the price. I wanted them to match carmax price but they would only instead pay $1k less and count the sales tax savings as matching trade value. I got up to leave and grabbed my papers. The very aggressive sales person rudely grabbed the quote that I was holding and said I could not leave with it. He refused to let go. I finally let go of it and left. I talked to the manager, who was polite and apologetic, but that was one of the worst dealership experiences I’ve had.

Service was good and my service advisor was professional. My issue is with Corwin Ford’s 3% credit card surcharge and the policy behind it. Corwin called me after my service asking for my honest feedback. I didn’t contact them to complain. They asked for my opinion, and I told them I was satisfied with the service but disagreed with charging customers a 3% surcharge. Instead of simply listening, the representative argued and claimed “every business charges 3%.” That simply isn’t true. Many businesses absorb processing costs, negotiate lower merchant rates, or build those costs into their pricing. After that conversation, I posted reviews on Yelp and Google. Only then did Corwin call me a second time. To their credit, they apologized for the representative’s tone, offered me a free oil change, which gave me a laugh since I drive an F-150 Lightning, and they offered to refund the 3% surcharge. I declined both offers because this was never about getting my money back. It’s about the policy itself. They’re not charging a small convenience fee. They’re charging the statutory maximum 3%. As a dealership representing one of the largest automotive brands in the country, I’d expect Corwin to be able to negotiate competitive processing rates like many other businesses do. Instead, they’ve chosen to pass the maximum allowable surcharge directly on to customers. That policy also penalizes people who use credit cards intentionally for security. I’ve been through identity theft and fraud before. If my credit card is compromised, fraudulent charges don’t immediately come out of my bank account during an investigation. If my debit card is hit, my own money can be tied up while the mess gets sorted out. I’m not willing to take that risk or to carry cash to pay for service. I appreciate that Corwin apologized and tried to make things right for me personally, but I don’t believe that solves the underlying issue. In my opinion, this policy unfairly shifts a normal cost of doing business onto customers who choose the payment method with stronger consumer protections. Until that changes, my rating remains one star.

While we understand that not everyone will agree with our credit card processing policy, we believe in being transparent by disclosing the fee in advance and offering alternative payment options. Thank you for the response. I appreciate the apology and the professionalism of my service advisor. However, your reply still misses the point. This isn’t about whether the fee was disclosed or whether I have other payment options. I intentionally use a credit card because I’ve been a victim of identity theft and fraud. Credit cards provide significantly stronger consumer protections than debit cards or cash. By charging customers an additional 3% to use the most secure payment method, you’re effectively penalizing people for protecting themselves from fraud. That’s the issue I’ve been trying to raise from the beginning. I understand we may disagree on the policy, but I hope your leadership team will consider the unintended consequence of discouraging customers from using the payment method that offers the best fraud protection.

We had an incredible experience buying our daughter her first vehicle at Corwin Ford! I reassured her that this was a very unusual car buying experience and was pleasantly surprised at how easy and smooth the process was. Erik and his team were patient, clear, and not once pressuring. From the moment we stepped on the lot, we felt welcomed and most importantly that our concerns and needs were heard. We worked with Erik through the entire process and one financial officer who was very transparent. We were able to purchase the vehicle of her dreams, and while we enjoyed the light refreshments provided. Erik had the car detailed, cleaned and pulled into the show garage with a large bow to make her first vehicle one to remember. I highly recommend Corwin Ford, they were worth the 2.5 hour drive and if every car buying experience was like this then car buying would have a much more positive reputation!

I had never bought a vehicle from a dealership before, so I was a little apprehensive going into it, but I’m really glad I ended up buying from Corwin. I worked with Hunter, who was patient with me throughout the process and helped me find a 2019 F-150 that had everything I was looking for. His manager, Andrew, also came over and introduced himself, which I appreciated. There were a few very minor issues with the truck, and Hunter told me they would take care of them. I didn’t get anything in writing; I just took his word for it. I wasn’t totally sure what to expect, but Hunter followed through on everything they said they would do, and then some. They really went above and beyond, fixed the issues, and clearly care about their customers and their reputation. It was a much better experience than I was expecting, and I would buy from them again.
