First new car purchase
The team at Evanston Autobarn are extremely knowledgeable and patient. my wife and I test drove the new 2013 CX-5 and loved it. They were tough but fair during the negotiations, as well as accommodating to our time crunch. The process moved very quickly and was stress free. I would recommend visiting themthe next time you are in the market for a new car.

Lewis was an amazing attentive salesman, he was patient with us buying our first new car ever. We test drove the CX-5 which we ultimately purchased. We drove for four hours and came back a second day. They were tough but fair in negotiations, and in the end I am happy with the decision my wife and I made. Lewis even offered to educate us on the technical bonuses when we came back from our road trip! They have a great staff and make the process of buying a car very stress free.

I visited 7 different dealerships in my search for a new pre-owned car. The sales consultants at this dealership were great! They were friendly, knowledgeable, and very passionate about the advantages of Mazdas. However, the sales manager at this dealership was the worst of all the dealerships I visited. He insists on speaking to all potential customers before they leave. He was very pushy and rude-- definitely a stereotypical used car salesman. When he first met me he made a sexual joke to throw me off guard, then he kept insisting that I buy a different car than the one I came in for that day. All this in spite of the fact that I’d made it clear when I came in that I was just test driving and I wasn’t ready to buy yet. I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders once I left this dealership since there was so much pressure on me to buy a car when I was inside, and I was proud of myself for managing to escape without buying a car. In the end, I decided to get a Honda, and I drove to a dealer about an hour away from where I live where the sales people were much less pushy and I felt more comfortable.

My car was damaged between me test driving it and leaving with the car. The left rear was scraped. Management would not even return our calls or respond to our letters; would not even admit possibility of fault. Awful service!

Purchased A Mazda3 With Ease
I had been shopping for a car over the last couple weeks. Over those weeks I had been to numerous dealerships where I was pressured into payment plans, a car outside my price range, and harassed by arrogant salesman to make a decision. For example, I was interested in a used car advertised at Midway Dodge on their website. When I called the sales office they confirmed several of the cars on their website were still in stock. When I arrived at the dealership the same day and mentioned the cars to the sales person he brushed the thought aside and began showing me other cars twice the price. When I told him to stop wasting my time he said the cars I was looking for were sold weeks ago; I was lied to on the phone. I approached Autobarn Mazda with the same skepticism. However, our sales representative, Lewis, was unlike all the other sales representatives I had dealt with before. He put me at ease and wanted to find me exactly what I was looking for. Lewis was not trying to waste my time or sell me something I was not interested in. He was very professional, as was the rest of the staff at Autobarn Mazda. I ended up purchasing a Mazda3 from Autobarn Mazda, which was exactly what I was looking for. They made the process very easy, and there was no pressure unlike many of the other dealers around Chicago. I would highly recommend them for those interested in a Mazda, especially Lewis. I will definitely be purchasing another car from them in the future.

03' Volkswagen Golf
This dealer was where I chose to buy my first car from. I'm from the area and grew up seeing their name on the license plates of over half of my neighbors and friends. When I first went to this dealership, I had a horrible experience and swore off the Autobarn altogether. I had what was to be my first car for less than a month, before I had to give it back. I came to a point later in life, where I needed a car yet again, and couldn't get finance anyplace else, as I'm a college student with little to no established credit. I saw an ad on clearance specials on vehicles and the ad was from Autobarn. Thinking I had nothing to lose, I decided to give them a try. I had spoken with a saleswoman, and we set an appointment up to look at some cars in my price range, and came out of the deal with a car that I've had for about 3 months now! I told her before of my negative experience with this dealer and she was very sympathetic, and sought to do everything that she could to make a positive situation out of this attempt. The people here were more than willing to work with me, and make sure that I got the best that they had to offer. Even with repairs, they were more than exceptional in their professionalism and courtesy to remedy an error.
