CAUTION! PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING A HERTZ CAR!

After making three different visits to Hertz to test drive cars, I purchased a 2013 Toyota Camry on Black Friday. While our salesman (Ron) was great to work with, and the overall buying process easy, I would strongly caution those who are considering buying a car here. Please remember that these are used rental cars, and while ?certified? by Hertz, are not perfect. Please learn from my mistake and make sure you take any car you are interested in on an extensive test drive before purchasing it. The test drive route Hertz uses goes basically around a long block and takes all of five minutes. Because Ron and my wife were with me and we were chatting (very stupid on my part), I didn?t hear a thumping sound coming from the rear wheels of the car until after we purchased it. The car was recently inspected, and while the front tires are new, the rear tires are a different brand, original to the car and have a little more than 50,000 miles on them. Although the trend on the rear tires is still decent and passes state inspection, because of the amount of miles on them, the tires have become slightly ?out of round?, which is causing the thumping sound. (This according to a local tire shop owner who inspected the tires). I first noticed the sound the day after purchasing the car. Thinking that the car may have been sitting for awhile and not driven much while Hertz was preparing the car for sale, I decided to drive it for a few days and see if it would go away. After about a weeks? worth of driving and about 150 miles later, it is still there. I took the car to a local tire shop that I have dealt with for 20+ years any time one of my cars needs tires, and he gave me his diagnosis above. I called Hertz and spoke with Ron to see if there was anything Hertz would do for me?even it was just for me to bring the car down to them and have them listen to the sound. He explained that, because the car was recently state inspected, there wasn?t anything Hertz would do for me, as the tires passed the inspection and they weren?t a safety issue. I know Ron isn?t a decision maker there, but I was disappointed in his response, as he gave me little reason to pursue the matter further. The thumping sound from the car isn?t loud, but it is there and it is noticeable. I understand the car isn?t going to be brand new, but I certainly wasn?t expecting to have to spend money on two new back tires to make the car ?right? for driving every day. If you are considering a car from Hertz?PLEASE learn from my mistake and ask to take it for a longer test drive than what Hertz provides, and listen for any kind of noises that don?t sound right to your ear and have them addressed before buying the car. I have a feeling that, had I heard the thumping sound before I bought the car, it would have been addressed to my satisfaction, because, in the end?they want to make that sale.

2013 Mazda 2

We were purchasing a car for our son. The salesperson Ashley was very friendly and helpful in meeting all our needs. We greatly appreciated her efforts in holding the car over the weekend for us until we were able to view it. The staff and management were all very friendly and helpful and the whole buying experience was done with ease.

Great service, laid back, straight forward!

Loreal was very helpful and buying from Hertz was a straight forward experience. For a first-time car-buyer Hertz's laid back approach to sales was important for me. My 2013 Hyundai Accent has been working like a charm so far!

2013 Jetta Sportswagen

We were really happy with Loreal right from the first phone call. We had several questions in relation to the car and she was able to satisfy our inquiries quickly. This made us feel comfortable enough to drive three and a half hours to test drive, and finally, purchase the car. The entire process was painless! But really, it was! The car was as advertised and the price was right. Loreal and her coworkers were terrific to work with, and we'd recommend this Hertz location to anyone!

Hertz Car Purchase 11/18

In the process of a cross-country move, I needed to buy a vehicle. I had the make and model selected, but needed to find the one I wanted (based on mileage, upgrades, and price). Since the Hertz Auto Sales in PHL was the closest location to where I?m staying, I elected to deal with them. At my first call, I spoke to (and continued working with) Loreal Jefferson. She didn?t pressure me in the least, was highly informative, and extremely helpful in her her assistance. I elected to go with a vehicle that was located at Warminster (40 minutes north). Loreal kindly performed research on the vehicle ahead of time, and based on the records she ensured it was in good shape, no prior accidents, etc. She then went to that location, did a look-see of the car to ensure it was in good shape, and returned with it to the closer location. Prior to my arrival that evening, she provided me guidance on some documentation I would have to provide, as well as information on the DMV that she had researched, explaining it all to me with very good clarity. The buying experience was genuinely hassle free - in fact it was a more frustrating task to coordinate insurance coverage. Even at the conclusion of the transaction, I had to return my rental car to Avis. I asked whether I could leave my new car in the lot for a time, and explained that I?d return via taxi, but that it may take a while since it was a `short lease? and the car-return process would be time-consuming. Loreal insisted on driving my new car to the rental agency, enabling me to avoid the cab fee, and ridiculous delays. My lessons from this buying experience are to buy from Loreal at Hertz. Her communication skills are top-notch, she cares about doing her job correctly and efficiently, and I genuinely felt that she had my interests at heart. Kudos to Hertz for doing the consumer right, and a huge kudos to Loreal Jefferson for going the extra mile. I'll gladly buy from her again, and will recommend any friends or family to consider doing the same.

Best place for buying

I would recommend hertz to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. They have a huge selection and their is no pressure.Loreal Jefferson was the rep that helped me purchase my SUV.She is very nice and on top of things.Loreal made the whole experience smooth and easy.Not sitting and waiting for hours.Like some dealers.I would definitely go back there again.Hertz reps and service down to the manager was a great experience.

2013 Chevrolet captiva

I bought over 2 months ago and am pleased. Lambert was an excellent sales representative. It was an outstanding price. However it's been two months and I've yet to received my registration and the voicemail is full so i am unable to leave a message. I'm very concerned. I LOVE my suv though

Don't purchase a car unless you check here first !

My experience with Hertz Philadelphia was the best car buying experience that I've had. I knew the car I wanted, compared the prices all over the area and the best price by far was here. As others have mentioned, Loreal Jefferson was outstanding....I joked with her that she must have a huge family due to all the great reviews she has! But, as I worked with her, she answered all my questions, ( and there were many emails back and forth) and made sure that I had all the info I needed when I came to the dealership to complete my sale...It was clear that she earned all the great reviews. There was no pressure, no hype, and with the no haggle price, I was comfortable knowing I was getting the best deal on my car. There was no feeling of doubt ! I've already recommended this dealership to friends and have told them to ask for Loreal for the best customer service! Great car, Great experience!

Lots of cars to choose from and very affordable too. Loreal Jefferson helped me along the way with picking out the type of car I wanted and also with financing. Everyone was very helpful and glad I decided to go with Hertz.

Wonderful experience for a first timer

loreal jefferson is an excellent agent to buy a car from. I would definitely recommend her to anyone buying a car and the dealership was very clean and organized. Loreal answered me and my sons questions, she helped me find insurance at a good rate and she trusted me to drive the car on a test drive even though I hadn't driven in a while (I'm glad she trusted me). She wasn't pushy and a fast talker. I would love to get my future cars from her and the dealership. I enjoyed it. It wasn't a painful experience. I was nervous and she made me feel at ease. THANK YOU ??!!!!
