Overall, a very positive experience in buying a car. We found a car located in Nevada and had it transferred to CarMax on Capitol Expressway. The sales process was very smooth. Our salesperson was Katerina, very friendly and professional.

Experience was disjointed, frustrating and uninspiring. We met with many different sales representatives, each with different information every time. When I tried to communicate with dealership I was always sent to a central phone tree and waited long hold times to be connected to someone, unless I was disconnected multiple times first (yes, this happened). On site experience inconsistent. Having returned at least four times, we met with someone different each time. One was great, but couldn't get him again. Others were apathetic, unknowledgeable about the cars and clearly transactional coordinators. I only shopped here because it had the car we wanted. I would have bought it anywhere else if I could have found our chosen vehicle. The list goes on and on. When we were ready to buy we couldn't get an appointment because as the manager said that day, they are super busy. So we waited until Sat evening when it was slower to come in. There was miscommunication on what was needed from us that delayed our being able to pick up the car. Again, one of the representatives that worked with us didn't lay it out for us. We left the car for service and examination before finalizing (on a Friday afternoon) and had to follow up ourselves with the dealership the following Thursday after not hearing from anyone all week, despite the fact our rep (Mark) said either he or his manager would contact us.

We love shopping for cars at Car Max and have bought our last three vehicles with them. We love their huge inventory, the ease of being able to shop online ahead of time on their website and, of course, their no-haggle price process. The car’s price is what it is. No going back and forth trying to agree on the cost. Once a decision to purchase a vehicle is made, the rest of the process and paperwork goes very smoothly. Car Max’s staff are all wonderful as well. Friendly, helpful and professional. I would highly recommend shopping through them.

I don’t leave reviews normally but I have to say that my experience buying a car from CarMax was hands down the easiest car purchase I’ve ever had. The process was simple and straight forward and everyone from the sales person to the service department were genuinely helpful and nice. Nothing but positive, the entire process. Bought a car that have not been able to use for 3 months been on the shop more time that on my garage had to cancel a trip due to not having the car available car still in the shop been repaired not even drive the car for 300 miles all the driving it’s been to carmax facility back and forth for repairs
