I had an extremely disappointing and deceptive experience

I had an extremely disappointing and deceptive experience with Monaco Motor Group in New Port Richey, FL. On April 4, 2025, I purchased a 2007 Lexus GX470 for over $15,000 after discussing its condition with Aamir, the representative. The online photos made the vehicle appear to be in very good condition. When I specifically requested undercarriage photos, he sent dark, grainy images that made it impossible to see details. When I called to clarify, Aamir assured me there was only minor surface rust and undercoating, nothing structural. Based on his repeated assurances, I went forward with the purchase. Their website claims vehicles ship within 7–10 days, but mine did not arrive until 30 days later, which I suspect may have been intentional to avoid an eBay Motors 30 day guarantee. When it finally showed up, it had severe frame rust and structural damage—far beyond what was disclosed. The rust was obvious and should have been clearly communicated, yet it was deliberately minimized. Two local mechanics, after inspecting the Lexus, advised against even driving the vehicle. I spent over $15,000 on a vehicle that is NOT safe to drive and essentially worthless, as I will never be able to resell it in this condition. This was a blatant misrepresentation of the vehicle’s true condition. To make matters worse, once they have your money, all communication stops. I later read another review that said “Aamir is your best friend until he gets your payment. After that, he disappears.” Unfortunately, that was exactly my experience—they completely ignored me once the deal was done. This experience was dishonest, unethical, and misleading. I strongly caution anyone considering buying a vehicle from Monaco Motor Group. Be extremely careful and do your own thorough inspection—do NOT rely on their photos, promises, or shipping claims.

Amir is your best friend until he gets your payment, and then the ghosting and excuses start. I was told the title would be overnighted the day of the wire transfer, but it ended up taking 11 days. Car arrived with damage from the shipper they chose and paid to transport. Guess what? Not his problem, not the unnamed shipper's problem, it's my problem! At the end of the day, I'm dealing with a used car dealer, and no matter what the price of the car is, I guess it's in their DNA to act like one.

I recently called Monaco Motor Group about a Porsche they had, and I'm really kicking myself for not acting faster. By the time I decided to go ahead with the purchase, it was already sold. They were uber professional and helpful throughout the process. The gentleman I spoke with, Aamir, was very well-spoken and articulate. Even though I didn't end up buying the car, I was very impressed with their service. Would definitely consider buying from them again.
