I recently purchased a 2013 Kia Rio from Gladstone Toyota and my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. I traded in my 2016 Toyota Tacoma for the Kia, hoping to downsize and get some cash back. While I initially felt that I received a fair value for my truck, I have since encountered multiple issues with the Kia. Within the first few months of owning the vehicle, I experienced an engine misfire and had to take it to an auto parts store to replace the ignition coil. Three days later, the car lost all power and stopped moving. After hours of attempting to fix it on the side of the road, I had to have it towed back to my house. Upon further inspection, I discovered that the catalytic converter was clogged and needed to be replaced - an expensive repair. I understand that the vehicle was purchased "as is," but I am deeply disappointed that a reputable company like Toyota of Gladstone would sell a vehicle that was clearly not in good working condition. I would have expected at least some general maintenance to be performed before the sale. When I reached out to the finance manager for assistance, I was met with a swift and unhelpful response, which only added to my frustration and disappointment. As a loyal customer of Toyota, I expected better service and quality from a company associated with the Toyota brand. It is disheartening to see such a reputable company sell a vehicle that is not up to par. I hope that Gladstone Toyota takes responsibility for the quality of the vehicles they sell and prioritizes customer satisfaction above all else. A car with Toyota of Gladstone dealer plates breaking down on the side of the road is simply unacceptable, and it does not reflect well on the Toyota brand as a whole. I strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Gladstone Toyota to think twice and consider other options before making a decision.
