Car dealership experiences are rarely good or great.
Car dealership experiences are rarely good or great. They all play too many games, take too long, try to fleece you at every step of the process. Shottenkirk CDJR Prosper wasn't much different. The Good: The young salesmen who worked with me were super nice. The Finance Manager wasn't overly pushy and the process didn't take an excessive amount of time (but still longer than I think it should). The Bad: I made an appointment on a Friday to come test drive a pre-owned car on a Saturday. They knew I was coming, even called me that morning to confirm. You'd think they'd have had the car washed for me. Nope. It was filthy The dirt actually obscured a decent size door ding I didn't notice until I bought the car and drove home. They tacked on fees for door edge guards and window tint which I had to negotiate to remove . . . but they never tinted the windows or installed the door edge guards in the first place. Their protection package ($895) has some decent features but some that are a waste and some that are not applicable. Why not ensure every pre-owned car sold has 2 key fobs (the one I purchased only came with one)?? It is because, like every other car dealer, their focus is on extracting maximum dollars from the customer rather than delivering great value and then charging a fair price. This is an industry problem, not just a Shottenkirk CDJR Prosper problem. But they are not much better than the average dealer.
