Horrible dealer who does not treat customers fairly. I caught them in an outright lie and this dealer can’t be trusted.

While my salesperson, Fatima, was an exceptional, honest 10/10 professional, the finance officer Jamaine, resorted to predatory and deceptive tactics that severely damaged my perception of the Honda brand. As a corporate relocation transferee with a prime Tier-1 employment contract and a massive 40% cash down payment ($15,000), the finance manager aggressively attempted to force an unwanted $1500 aftermarket GPS tracker and another $800 or something GAP insurance onto my contract. He explicitly lied, claiming that American Honda Finance mandated the tracker due to a 'thin credit file' and also falsely stated that New York State law legally mandates GAP insurance on loans over $30,000, not once mentioning the foreign professional relocation program until I brought it up. Initially, giving me a rate of more than 11% whereas the promotional APR was between 3.5% - 4.5%. Later when I explicitly told that I was a professional who was looking to get the Tier 1 rates because of my high salary, high initial down payment and low risk profile, the rates magically became the standard Honda promotional rates. These coercive, deceptive tie-in sales practices are completely unacceptable. I finally demanded my deposit back after around 3 hours of continuous back and forth to which they folded finally and suddenly dropped the ‘mandatory’ after market tracker add on. Honda corporate needs to audit this department's compliance.

If you enjoy being 'yes’d” to death by salespeople who treat honesty like an optional feature, then Honda of Hillside is the place for you. They talk a big game to gain your trust, but the second the deal is inked, you cease to exist. I sold them my car on the promise of a one-to-two-week turnaround for my check; instead, I was forced into a five-week nightmare of chasing my own money. Every inquiry was met with silence or a dismissive attitude that bordered on insulting. I have owned and leased vehicles for years, and this is, without question, the most unprofessional, incompetent dealership I have ever encountered. Do not walk—run—to any other dealer.

Honda of Hillside is a masterclass in systemic failure and broken promises. If you are looking for a dealership that utilizes the 'bait and switch' method for customer service—offering endless verbal assurances to close a deal only to vanish once the paperwork is signed—this is it. Their internal procedures for vehicle acquisitions are utterly broken. I was quoted a standard one-to-two-week window for check disbursement; instead, it took five weeks of constant follow-ups to receive payment. This wasn't just a delay; it was a total breakdown in professional conduct. My inquiries were met with a wall of silence, and when a response was finally forced, the staff was dismissive and lacked any sense of urgency or respect for my time. In my extensive experience with leasing and purchasing vehicles, I have never encountered a business so fundamentally incapable of following its own quoted timelines. The lack of transparency and the total disregard for post-transaction accountability is a massive red flag. Do not trust their 'process' and do not expect professional courtesy once they have your keys. Take your business to a dealership that actually respects its clients and understands how to execute a basic financial transaction.

Ashley was extremely helpful and patient. I was referred by a friend that received her car from HH and raved about the amazing customer service. I can truly say that was also my experience. I give Ashley 10/10 starts and I’m very grateful for her help in leasing my first car.

Do not go to Hillside Honda Absolute horrible experience. After agreeing on a price on the condition that I finance through one of their banks. I secured financing through Chase (as requested) less than 24 hours later. Then the salesman, Eli, raises the price $1500. Do not try to buy a car at Hillside Honda used cars

Stellar location with a professional and helpful staff. Huge thanks to Paul and Kenny for providing us with a great car at a great price while making the entire process as simple as possible. We were taken care of the whole time and the overall buying procedures was smooth and not drawn out. 2nd time honda customer and will likely come back for a third time in the future.
