I purchased a Jeep from Burns Chevrolet expecting the level of honesty and inspection that should come from a major, reputable dealership. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Shortly after purchase, the Jeep began overheating. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the radiator had a rusty hole and that stop-leak had been used in the cooling system—both clear indicators of a pre-existing problem that should have been obvious during any reasonable pre-sale inspection. I brought the vehicle back to Burns Chevrolet while it was actively overheating. Despite the visible radiator damage and clear evidence of stop-leak, the service department claimed the vehicle had a blown head gasket. I do not believe a proper diagnosis was performed, as a rusted-through radiator and stop-leak residue are easily detectable and should have been addressed before concluding a major engine failure. While the warranty was only 30 days, I would expect Burns Chevrolet to stand behind a vehicle that was sold with undisclosed and obvious mechanical issues. I worked directly with management and received no support or accountability. This experience has left me with serious concerns about both the sales process and the service department’s diagnostic practices at Burns Chevrolet. Selling a vehicle with evident cooling system problems and then misdiagnosing those problems afterward is unacceptable. I hope this review encourages other buyers to ask detailed questions and obtain independent inspections before purchasing here.
