CarMax Algonquin

This Sorento was priced right and in fantastic condition except for all the bugs that were stuck to the rear of the vehicle from the trip up from Florida. The dealership tried to clean it up but was unsuccessful. I had to take the vehicle to a body shop to professionally have the finish buffed out and $158 dollars later! I knew from reading the reviews that CarMax does not give you decent money for your trade-in and the reviews were absolutely correct in this particular instance. A local Kia dealership gave me $1200 more than the CarMax offer, so CarMax did not get my trade-in. Don't get me wrong, the process of purchasing this vehicle was trouble free and smooth. There were just a few bumps in the road... as they say. I would recommend this CarMax of Algonquin.

It was a good experience. I did not like dealing with a different assosciate on every visit. I bought a number of cars from Carmax and in the past I dealt with one sales associate. Made it more of a personal experience.

I had an absolutely horrendous experience with this CarMax dealership. The moment I drove off the lot— at night right after processing the paperwork & after the dealership closed—the check engine light came on. I returned it first thing the next morning, but for an entire week, I got no updates—only that they would send it to a Kia dealership. When Kia finally contacted me, they told me it was an MAJOR ENGINE ISSUE and required a full replacement. Keep in mind these cars go through a 125 point inspection and the employee also agreed this should have been caught! The process in full took over 39 days, and throughout this process, I kept expressing concern as the 10-day and 30-day policy deadlines approached—since I had not even had the car in my possession since that first morning I dropped it off. Despite my repeated concerns, they never informed me that I would be limited to just seven days to decide on this vehicle—one that was broken from the moment I bought it. They outright refused to honor the 10- or 30-day policies, even though I never had the car in my possession. This has been a complete nightmare—unprofessional, unfair, and uncaring at every step, from the store level to corporate. I strongly urge others to avoid this business at all costs I STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST THIS BUSINESS.

We had our purchase brought to Algonquin from Merriville Indiana that team was amazing getting the vehicle brought to Algonquin in a very timely manner.
