I had an outstanding experience purchasing my Mercedes-Benz, and the credit goes entirely to Travis Rhodes. Before making my decision, I contacted sales representatives from eight different Mercedes-Benz dealerships. Out of everyone I spoke with, Travis was the only one who consistently stood out for being professional, polite, respectful, and genuinely helpful. From start to finish my experience with Walter Mercedes-Benz of Riverside exceeded every expectation. How I Bought My Mercedes in the AI Era I never expected to buy a Mercedes—let alone an EV. In fact, I wasn’t even aware the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 SUV existed until ChatGPT suggested it. ChatGPT helped me make a list of possible replacements for my aging 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. After identifying the Mercedes EQS SUV, it explained that many Mercedes purists felt the vehicle had too much technology—which was exactly what I wanted as a gadget enthusiast—and that the loss of EV tax credits and other market conditions had created an exceptional buying opportunity on the used market. I’d never even ridden in an electric vehicle before, but after searching nationwide, we realized the exact loaded, dark silver model I wanted was sitting right across the LA metro area at Walters Mercedes-Benz in Riverside. It had virtually every option. As a retired TV producer, I value efficiency and dislike dealership games. Rather than losing a day driving through Los Angeles commuter traffic and sitting in a finance office, I emailed Edwin Corea and laid out my terms: the entire purchase would happen strictly by email. Edwin completely respected my unconventional process and rolled with it. Every conversation, disclosure, and line of the purchase contract was reviewed with ChatGPT as a sounding board before I signed. Walters then sent a traveling notary to my house and arranged complimentary flatbed delivery directly to my door, while Carvana arrived to pick up my Jeep. I even financed through Mercedes-Benz so the dealership would receive credit for the loan, then paid it off before the first payment was due. By letting the first owner absorb the steep initial depreciation, my net investment after the Jeep sale was roughly $51,000 for a virtually flawless, original $150,000 flagship. Six months later, I still look back every time I park it. I didn’t just buy a used car; I bought a spectacular retirement gift for decades of work well done ... entirely on my terms. Edwin Corea and Walters Mercedes-Benz proved that great salesmanship isn't about persuasion—it's about respect. AI helped me think. Intentionality did the rest.

I went in for service. I was warmly greeted. I expressed a couple of concerns I had. Ross Geiger listened attentively. After a preliminary check, Ross determined I need not be concerned about one thing. Saved me $1000 right there. A requested loaner car was issued. A few days later my car was ready. Corrections made. All is well. No charge! I also really appreciated the video sent by the mechanic. I shall return (as needed).

Driving up to my service appointment, the greeting was courteous and professional. JR Rodriguez, my advisor, was very professional. Likewise, Michael got me the very clean loaner. The next day, I got my car back; all issues addressed to my satisfaction. Lastly, I can tell my car was washed with great attention to detail.
