San Francisco-based Ample believes it can replenish range in any EV in about the same amount of time it takes to refuel a gas vehicle, helping to reduce range anxiety and battery wear.
Announced in the summer of 2022, the network will eventually include some 2,000 charging stalls at as many as 500 Pilot and Flying J locations across the U.S.
Done when it’s quite cold or hot outside, preconditioning heats or cools the battery to a more moderate temperature that allows it to charge and deliver electricity more quickly.
Beginning in 2025, Lucid owners will be able to charge at Tesla Supercharger stations nationwide, and the brand will also begin to incorporate the NACS charging port into its vehicles during assembly the same year.

The new networks are Red E, whose chargers are concentrated mostly around Michigan; Francis Energy, which operates primarily in Oklahoma; and Blink, a nationwide network.
Beginning in 2025, Toyota will make adapters available that allow existing customers to use Tesla’s charging network.
Beginning in early 2025, drivers of existing BMW, Mini, and Rolls-Royce electric vehicles will be able to use Tesla’s charging stations.
Beginning in the first quarter of 2025, the brands will make adapters available to their customers, allowing those with the existing Combined Charging System charge port to use Tesla chargers.
