The following list highlights the 10 most efficient electric cars of the 2022 model year. Where more than one version of a given model qualifies, we selected the most efficient version.

The overall pace of these reveals is on par with 2021 introductions, though 2022 also features an acceleration of new electrified SUVs.

The EV6’s starting price lands it mid-pack among competitors including the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen ID.4.

Here are the new EVs going on sale for the 2022 model year. There may be some slippage in terms of availability, with some models even falling back to the 2023 model year if timing backs up.

The 2022 Kia EV6 has been EPA-rated between 232 and 310 miles of range, depending on the model, with trim levels comprising the EX, EX Plug, GT-Line and, eventually, the GT.
