2023 Honda Ridgeline works for me

The Ford Maverick had been on my radar since they were announced a few years ago. Liked the idea of a small pickup that could seat five in a pinch and lug around yard stuff that my wife needs. Really wanted my next vehicle to be a hybrid or electric for the sake of efficiency. Unfortunately, or fortunately in my case, Ford dealers are marking up Mavericks by $5000 or more. What would be a value purchase in my mind goes out the window with that. Have always got 10-25% off sticker in all my car dealings -- not starting now after 45 years of buying new cars from dealers. An internet inquiry about the Ridgeline ended up with $5000 off sticker and 0.9% financing. The Ridgeline is more than enough truck for my modest hauling requirements and is plenty well appointed in the RTL trim. The only downside in my mind is the mediocre fuel economy. The Ridgeline would get five stars all the way around if it was a hybrid, which I'm sure will probably be out in a few years. Overall a really nice driving vehicle with plenty of cabin room and all-around versatility.

2023 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E

The best riding mid size truck there is... for that matter it may be the best riding truck there is. The interior is noise free and well laid out. The extra features are fantastic (ie the bed trunk, the swing out tail gate and the rear fold up seats with the flat floor). Engine and Transmission performance is good, plenty of power when you need it and nice well placed shifting of the transmission. Tech features have been great, I love the auto dim head lights and the Lane Keep assist. Everything has been working flawlessly. I would highly recommend test driving one of these if you haven't driven one already. I think one drive and you will be hooked.

A very nice ride

Loved the driving experience, ride, handling, performance, almost everything about my 2023 Honda Ridgeline!! Am still trying to get adapted to the “no stick” shift” system! Am wondering the reason for this change! Overall, a great pickup truck!!!’

Total enjoyment

I really love my truck. Only downside is the radio cuts off when turn off engine. Heated steering wheel excellent for arthritis in my hands. The seats excellent 👍 quality.

Bought new, brake booster went out after 6 weeks

So I just bought a 2023 Honda Ridgeline a month and a half ago. Right off the bat, I noticed that the sound system was horrible. I figured I would be able to adjust it and bought the truck anyway. After all, it was a $38,000 vehicle. I have been unable to adjust it, and when googling the issue I found that you have to get the RTL-E if you want a sound system that is somewhat decent. I expected more for the price, but oh well, I can live with it. That is, until 3 weeks ago. I was about 300 miles from home and the brake booster went out on it. I was told by the dealership that Honda had just switched from hydraulic brake boosters to electric ones, and it is all turning into a nightmare. They ordered the new part, but at this point half of the time we’ve owned the truck it’s been in the shop. I have to say, I am not impressed. I’m sure I just got a defective one, and I bet for most people it is a great vehicle.

Lemon

I purchased this truck new, at the end of April 2023. Since, I have had it back to the dealership three times. First was a bent interior door clip that caused the inside panel to pop out when the window rolled up. The next weekend the truck began having a rubbing noise while driving. Per the service tech the brake/wheel heat shields were pressed up against the rotors. This weekend I noticed white spots on top of the rear bumper, inside the truck bed, plus a discoloration on the truck bed liner. The trunk is parked inside a garage, the last four weeks and mind you, it has less than 400 miles on it due to the other issues and not being able to drive it. Reading Honda forums, the Ridgeline has had the bed liner issues since 2016. Many saying that Honda will not replace.
