The car had a flaw in the paint. The sales manager installed body side moldings to correct it. Way better option than painting the door

Disappointed in the changes if the 2020

I had a 2017 outback and loved it. I just traded for a 2020 outback. I must say I am disappointed with how many screens you have to go thru to turn off the auto stop, auto vehicle hold, seat heaters. The GPS is nice but does not retain its last settings. The heads up display was a huge waste of time given the lack of speed display. The facial recognition is a nice idea but does not work all the time. It’s a nice car but Subaru once again is behind on technology. The 2.4 turbo is a huge improvement in performance but gets horrible fuel mileage 19 mpg in mixed driving. Overall I am disappointed with the 2020 changes. Subaru could have done so much better to keep in line with other cars of the same level.

I don't feel safe driving this car any more

I loved this car before it came out. It checked all the boxes for fun and performance, and the Onyx is such a beautiful new design. I loved the way it handled and have really enjoyed driving it. I dislike the engine auto shut-off feature having to be disabled every time you start the car, but this is a minor annoyance. What I can't live with is buggy electrical and MySubaru problems. Initially, like the first day I owned the car, MySubaru had to be somehow reconfigured, as it wouldn't connect to my app. I was frustrated to be getting emails directing me to return to the service department immediately after I bought it. Then one day, the radio turned itself on at full volume as I was driving and could not be turned off, turned down, or shifted to another media input. This felt unsafe. Stopping and restarting the car did not fix it. I talked to a customer service rep as this was happening; she called me, because she was receiving an error message from my dashboard. Later in the day, the radio turned itself off. I chalked it up to a fluke, but then the next week, my key fobs stopped working. I was at a place of business, came outside, and the car could not be unlocked. I happened to have BOTH sets of keys, and both were not able to unlock the car. I tried to unlock it with the MySubaru app, and it failed 3x to unlock the car and then froze me out of the app. Calling Customer Service at MySubaru failed to produce any result. After about 20 minutes of trying, the car unlocked when I touched the handle sensor--which was maddening, because I had already tried this dozens of times. I took it to the dealer, and the service department spent the day testing it and troubleshooting. Their basic report is that there are some problems, they *think* it has to do with MySubaru, and they don't have a fix for it. One is expected early next year. They'll call me, but I should check in if I don't hear from them . To sum up, I don't know what's going on with this car, but it's not right. I'd like to return it, but with what I spent for tax, title, license, and whatever the dealer would give me for a car with 5200 miles on it, it's a huge loss. It feels unsafe to not know what it will do next, or whether I'll be stranded somewhere. They recommended using the physical key that's embedded in the fob, which will set off the alarm everywhere I go. That feels unfair on a brand new car.

Rough auto start/stop disappointing

New Touring XT handles and rides great. Interior is thoughtful, high quality, and attractive. Safely suite is impressive. Unfortunately, auto start/stop is crude and abrupt with no easy way to disable. Huge negative that outweighs many of the positives.

A lot of car for the money

We only have 800 miles on the Outback so far, so I don't have any reliability data. It is an extremely comfortable car and it is a smooth ride. The fuel mileage is lower than the EPA rating, but still very good. The audio system is extremely good. The touch screen is easy to use, but some items require a couple taps.

Worth the wait for the 2020

was planning on buying a 2019 Outback V-6 until I test drove the new Turbo. Great engine! Everything about the car is fantastic. I hope it's as reliable as the older models. The above rating for reliability does not give me an N/A option. I don't know the answer yet!

Subaru #4

I have to say I love Subarus, I was a Ford girl for years from 71 Ford Torino, to multiple Taurus'. But now its Subaru all the way. The 2020 Outback is roomy and comfortable. Rides like a dream. Handles well in all conditions...8" of snow 2nd week I had it. 2020 lots of new bells and whistles and beautiful interior make it feel like a luxury vehicle. I did not get the high model either..2nd from the bottom can't imagine how much nicer the higher models could possibly be. But I will say..all Subarus are great. I've owned an Impreza and 2 Crosstreks prior to this one.

Nice vehicle plenty of amenities for the price

The vehicle handles pretty well and it is very comfortable however it has a very annoying feature that cannot be permanently disabled. The auto stop start, it has to be manually disabled every time you start the car. It is a potential safety hazard as you have to take your eyes away from the road while you try to turn it off. It is a very annoying feature which in my case is not doing anything for me but to kill my battery life and starter,

I love this car. Excellent travelling vehicle.

This is my first car with all the bells and whistles. I am extremely impressed with the comfortable ride. I love the large screen especially when using the map feature. Makes it so much easier to see. I honestly love everything about this car.
