VW Passat
The Tiguan exceeds mpg rating from the website. It’s comfortable and I’m 6’7”. We a pretty picky car people and stick to a lower budget. The Tiguan is 4cyl turbo, third row and optional all wheel drive. You can’t ask for much better than that... But wait it also has apple car play and leather for under $20k. We’re very happy with the performance and handling as well as the power and we drive up and down a mountain...

So far so good
So far so good... Recently purchased this small, I would call, compact SUV and all has gone well so far. I've drove cars, vans a and a suburban for a few months and this is the only vehicle I felt I needed to re-learn driving...I guess its not so small after all. Good get up, different engine, as I'm sure you'll read about but it doesn't bother me any. For it to be more on the simpler side and not considered 'luxury' I do feel as if I'm riding in style. Nice updated techs, nice firm seats, and great ride overall. I couldn't pass up the deal. I was torn between a Suburu Forester and this vehicle, and I'm glad with the decision I made. If your looking for sporty, within the budget putchase and want a suv, you wont be disappointed. It's been a month and I still haven't figured out all the vehicle offers..I hope this helps.

Very expensive to drive, cheap plastic interior.
First off - I have been a VW customer all my life. My first car was a 1987 Polo Hatchback (in Europe). I had multiple Golfs after that and got this 2018 Tiguan SE lease in January of 2018. It is by far the most expensive car I've even driven. I'm not talking about the payments, but about maintenance. Gas mileage is disappointing and below what the specs promise (while my previous 2015 Golf's actual gas mileage was above specs). The Bridgestone tires that came with the car are rated for 80k miles but were worn after 32k miles. And I drive like an old lady, trust me. Brake pads had to be replaced at 27k miles. I don't even own this car and I've poured over $2k into it on top of my monthly payments, 2 years into the lease. Never had to do that with previous VW's. Additionally, the quality of VW's keeps getting cheaper. My right knee sitting against the console while driving causes a plastic crackle noise. Same with my elbow on the center arm rest. There has been a rattle in the headliner since the day I got the car and the dealer is unable to fix it. It's been driving me mental for the past 2 years. Everything feels cheap compared to previous VW's I owned or leased. Exterior paint seems to scratch or chip and the metal dents when you look at it too hard. Very soft/thin metal and paint. All in all, this is the first VW I am truly disappointed about. I am not planning on getting another VW after this. But that means a $500 penalty as per the lease. I went from being a VW fan to being completely bummed out about VW.

Cheaply Made and Overpriced
This car is cramped and overpriced. I have had to bring it in multiple times for chintzy hardware and decals that just seem to flake off. This was my first time going with a VW and I am not impressed. They really tried but missed the mark on the quality here. Even the seat belts rattle around and make a ton of noise.

Great car for a great price!
The car is beautiful on both inside and out. I was hesitant at first that the interior space wouldn’t be big enough, but after I saw in person I was extremely impressed. Though it’s a midsize SUV, the spacious room in the back row and trunk exceeded my expectations!

2018 Tiguan SEL Common Sense Vehicle
My wife and I travel from the Chicago area to the Wisconsin peninsula every other week and this vehicle meets our needs in terms of handling / space & fuel economy. We recently purchased it as a Certified Used car from a VW dealer and have out about 1500 miles on it. Some observations: The Navigation is excellent in that the maps are clear and easy to read. The audio is is very good also. The rear view camera is very clear. The blind spot indicator is small and somewhat difficult to see during the day as it is located in the side mirrors. Wish there was an indicator on the dash and a warning sound. The outside mirrors definitely have a blind spot and I'm thinking of getting an additional mirror. The drivers seat is a bit stiff but satisfactory. I'm getting excellent gas mileage - averaging close to 28 or better using regular gas. My current tank is getting close to 450 miles. Very good storage area in the rear. Significant leg room for the rear seat. My biggest annoyance is the manner in which the turbo kicks in during city driving. When you start there is a pause and then a bit of a push which is not very linear as opposed to my 2013 Tiguan. Note though that I didn't use sport mode for stop and go city driving - which could've been better. I had no problem passing someone on a single lane road and I had 4 adults in the car. I find the interior very quiet also. Overall I'm very pleased and would recommend that this car be on a short list for anyone looking for a very good SUV. The Certified VW program offers excellent value and a very good warranty.
