2004 Acura MDX consumer reviews

Nice and roomy with a quiet quality interior, OK on gas for a heavy AWD. A number of interior, exterior and mechanical updates were made for 2004. The V6 engine added slightly more power and is now rated at 265 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. Outside, you'll find a restyled front fascia, new chrome trim, dual exhaust tips, a new wheel design for Touring models, updated headlights and taillights and a rear wing spoiler. The interior now features trendy brushed metal-look trim for the center stack, leather armrests, auto-on/off headlights, new ambient foot lighting and enhanced functionality of the second-row seat for third-row access. Touring models get a new version of the Bose premium audio system and power lumbar support for the driver seat. Finally, safety has been improved on all MDXs with the addition of side curtain airbags and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

Fancy model of Honda Pilot. Everything electronic. Very comfortable. Downside of it is; expensive maintenance, lose value a bit quicker than other SUV and Acura dealers are not in every city, so I had to drive more than an hour to get a recall or something done. Overall I liked it and recommend it.

I just recently bought my MDX from Try City and love it. It is a Great car that I've always wanted and the timing couldn't be better. It was my Christmas gift :) The people there was nice, friendly, and answered all my questions.

I bought my 2004 MDX new, and have driven it over 151,000 miles. This has be the MOST reliable car I have EVER owned (and I've owned many)! I have done almost nothing to this car except buy tires, change the oil and filter on schedule, done the major servicing requirements (rear differential fluid, timing belt, etc.) and put in new brakes. My family just shamed me into buying a newer car, so I'm selling the 2004 after having just bought a used 2011 MDX. I hope I have as much luck with this one as I did with its predecessor.

Purchased an 04 mdx w/ 120k mi. Have enjoyed the performance & comfort. Averaged 23 mpg combined driving. Car was wonderful in the one snowfall it was driven in. People can't believe it's a 10 yr old car. It looks much younger, drives well, is very comfortable.

We purchased ours used with 84,000 miles on it and have had added 40,000 of our own. The car runs like new. It is extremely comfortable and spacious. There is no hump in floor for the second row seat, which makes it very roomy for passengers. The cargo area easily handles everything we've ever needed for a trip. The overall mileage is about 17 mpg, but hey, it's a big luxury car. We did have a power steering leak but this is fixable by changing out the O rings. You can do this yourself or get it done at a garage for about $350. There's third row seating which has plenty of space for kids. Electronics are a little dated but the sound system is fine. We added satellite radio and a rearview camera.

My wife had an 01 and she was T-Boned in the drivers door. The side airbag saved her from serious injury. She was fine and they totaled the car. We then bought an 04. Awesome SUV. It is a mid size but has the 3rd row seats. Very quiet interior at hwy speed. Never in the shop except for regular maintenance. My daughter just bought an 04. I flew to Ft Lauderdale and picked it up and drove home to Denver. It drove flawlessly. it has 116000 miles and still like new. got 23 mpg. She loves it. Great ski car!

We bought our MDX new, and 86,000+ miles later it runs like new. Very comfortable, great versatility, and impressive performance. 10 years later, the technology aspects of the car are dated, the mpg is not so great, and it looks a bit bulky. But as a reliable vehicle that has hauled everything and everyone, it has been outstanding. And something that rarely gets mentioned in reviews; I am 6'4" and 270+ pounds, so being comfortable is a car is rare. The Acura MDX has plenty of room for big guys and gals!!!

This was our second Acura, both of which we loved. The vehicle was very stylish in the day. Loved the car.
