Favorite car ever, but there are drawbacks
I love my 2010 Audi A5, but there are some parts to it that I don't like as much. I can describe it in a pro/con list: pros: Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Since the exterior of the car hasn't changed much since 2010, most people also think mine is from 2014 or even newer. Pretty lovely to drive. It's like butter to drive, maybe not the best acceleration but certainly it purrs like a lion and you feel like a millionaire in the driver's seat. Great attention to detail. This is the biggest plus for me, and it really shows how different a high-end German car is compared to any other car. Everything seems to be in the right place in an Audi---the lights in the car are perfectly placed, the cupholders are exactly where you need them, the buttons and controls are all ergonomically placed. Only the media controls don't quite live up to this, but they updated this in the 2011 model and placed the controls around the shifter. cons: It's finicky: there's weird stuff that happens to a German car. My trunk doesn't open when it's under 30 degrees out---there is a sliding door to the ashtray/cigarette lighter which randomly stopped working---the dash plastic scratches easily. These are all minor grievances, but they are each individually hundreds of dollars to fix so they stack up. Gas consumption: If you drive this car like a granny, you'll have okay fuel economy. When I drive like a granny, I average 18-23 MPG. However, I bought a fast, fancy car so I could drive a fast, fancy car. When I drive faster, accelerate quicker, and don't think about my fuel so much, I average more like 11-14 MPG---and that adds up fast when you're paying for premium fuel.

Fun practical convertible
The exterior design is attractive and clean. The interior is very easy to get used to and is upscale without being over the top. The materials are all high quality. The controls for the top are easy to use and it operates quickly even while driving under 30mph. The transmission shifts smoothly and is never hunting for gears. The engine has a subtle turbo whine at certain speeds but is very torquey at typical road speeds so it is enjoyable to drive in a sporty mode. The trunk has decent room for a convertible plus the rear seats fold down for larger objects. It is a great touring car and with the AWD it is very stable on all road conditions.

Gorgeous and Classy body style for 10 years
Bought this car Certified Pre-Owned from an Audi dealer with very low miles. Replaced the Battery with an Audi unit. Other than that, no problems. With the V6 (only made from 2008 to 2010) the car has increbible performance yet gets 22>24 mpg in the city and can 28>30 on the highway with cruise on. Runs great on mid-grade gas, don't need hi-test. Interior is the benchmark for quality and material and shows no sign of wear. Ours is called gray but is more of an off-white. If you get a black interior, it will be hot because of all the glass. We had LLumar UV Protection Window Film done on all the windows. Made a big difference. Find a nice, low mileage, well maintained car and save over buying new. Not many of them made every year, so you won't see yourself very often.

Great car
230 000kms only real issue is the oil consumption due to the ring problem of old. Still drives like a dream, limited maintenance over the years other than the services, brakes and timing chain (at 185 000km).

Solid, Sharp & Fast Enough
I picked up a 2010 A5 3.2 prestige with 57k on the clock a month ago. So far I'm impressed with the look, the ride, and the B&O stereo. It rides firm on its 19 in wheels but is not jarring. The seats and leg room are comfortable for bigger guys (6-3, 220). This is a second vehicle for me and I wanted something more sporty (my other ride is a 2013 Chevy truck). It's not a sports car however. It's a good grand tourer with enough power and grip for a spirited drive when required. My only complaint is the MMI entertainment system can be a pain to navigate. It Bluetooth's to your phone for calls but couldn't Bluetooth music from my phone until I bought a $90 wireless device from England.
