For 2026, Audi’s mid-size sedan lineup is undergoing a massive overhaul, with an all-new A6 and the new A6 and S6 Sportback e-Tron electric vehicles stepping on the A7’s toes. So, the A7 is retreating for the new model year, leaving the base A7 model and sporty S7 in the dust. For 2026, the only way to get a gas-powered mid-size Audi fastback sedan is to scoop up a 621-hp RS 7 Performance, which carries over unchanged except for newly available blue brake calipers.

Trim Levels and Safety Features
With the current A7 generation dating to the 2019 model year, the 2026 RS 7 Performance is fairly light on standard safety tech: Only forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and a 360-degree camera are included. However, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitors, lane-centering steering, front and rear cross-traffic alert, automated parking and night vision are available.
Otherwise, the RS 7 is equipped the way you’d expect a 621-hp flagship luxury model to be. It rides on 21-inch wheels wearing summer performance tires, as well as an adaptive air suspension with a sport rear differential and rear-wheel steering. The RS 7 also boasts keyless entry and start, LED exterior lighting, a panoramic moonroof and a power liftgate. Interior features include leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, four-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, stainless-steel pedals and a Bang & Olufsen audio system. The split-screen infotainment system has a 10.1-inch upper display with navigation and an 8.6-inch lower touchscreen for climate controls.

Powertrain Specs and MPG
The RS 7 Performance generates its 621 hp and 627 pounds-feet of torque with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine. An eight-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive are standard. Audi says the RS 7 needs just 3.3 seconds to accelerate from 0-60 mph, which is a far better reason to get one than its EPA-rated 14/21/17 mpg city/highway/combined.
