The car is a very smooth, comfortable ride. It did have the unfortunate head gasket problem that a lot of North Star engines seem to have. The car is an expensive upkeep, but if you like Cadillacs, you will love the DHS

This car has paid for it self twice over,,,other than routine maintenance ,brakes, tires ,oil changes,The blower went out after 15 years. For the comfort on log rides and fuel this is the only car that gives you both 26 mpg And no driving fatigue being on the road 10 hours.

It is a great luxury ride for the money. Great long term engine. Great for family vacations or dinner out with a group

This automobile has given great performance.Very solid and very well rounded automobile.Great MPG.V8 power with full safety with driver and passengers in mind.

Mechanically this car has been average however constant electrical issues have persuaded me to not recommend this vehicle to anyone

Super reliable car, I am the second owner, first was a very occasional driver who only drove when necessary, great mileage for its age. (63,000 miles since 2002.) The 32 valve V8 Northstar engine is a staple for big body cars like this DeVille, good enough for power, very roly-poly car, like driving on a pillow. Interior is comfortable but cheesy. The engine will leak oil, however, I have been told this is natural for the Northstar engine. Rear shocks are self-adjusting by a computer and will need to be changed before 100k due to air leakage, easy and relatively inexpensive fix. The traction control is decent. Otherwise a very spacious, practical and reliable luxury sedan from the early 2000's.

Bought it off the Showroom Floor. Have only 46,000 + miles on it. Clark tells me when it's due for service and always takes care of everything.

Bought this car a year ago with 200k. With the engin Running Great. Needed a little work. Ended up getting a new " throttle control valve and throttle positioning sensor" witch was super easy and cheap to replace. I did the WOT procedure sins the rings weren't fully settled and after that I could feel the full horsepower. Interiors great exteriors is great. Very comfortable for long travels and very spacious. Love the bench seat up front, big trunk, 12v outlets on both passenger doors and my most favorite design feature is the classic hood ornament. treat the car well the car will last a very long time. This is a great car and I fully recommend it!

I bought 2 of these for an anniversary a in 2010. Within the first several months of owning them, one needed a head gasket. The same car has a leaky trunk (like inches of water) that cannot be traced. The other car's rings and seals went, along with the catalytic converter, yearly. We finally got them paid off and saved enough to trade one in. Every month for 5 years we have had one or the other being repaired. Very expensive circumstances and very inconvenient.
