2011 Chevrolet Aveo consumer reviews

the car took me everywhere I needed to go.. had a little body damage but over all a great car! very pleased.... I would refer friends and family it is a good lot the car met all my expectations.

I bought a 2011 version in 2014 with 60k miles on it. I had the car for 3 months before the catalytic converter went out. Luckily I had 3 miles before the dealer warranty on the part went out. Then about a year later, the control arm broke. Then my thermostat went out along with the heater hose. Then had to replace my radiator. Then the head gasket blew which is a $3,600 repair. All this even though I kept up maintenance on the vehicle. Horrible as far as being a reliable car.

I have loved my 2011 aveo only had it 4 yrs have taken great care of it...the engine blew. Head gasget.. etc. I want reimbursed. I am without a car! HELP.

This is my second Aveo. It’s true, wind does move this little car around a bit. But I like sitting up higher. You don’t sit as low as other small cars. I disagree about the snow. Good tires on this car make it capable in the snow. My wife drove it home from work after a Green Bay blizzard dumped 17” of snow. It gets decent gas mileage...around 25 in town. I have taken several day trips alone and pulled 38-42. But that’s with a five speed. I took it on a five hour trip, one way, and it got 35 mpg with three guys over 200 pounds. Head room is phenomenal. Width is okay, but there are no interior armrests. Factory cruise control works well. Be prepared to downshift if driving in mountains. Ride is decent. I’ve taken several cross country trips in this car; the backside feels it after about eight or nine hours. Intermittent wipers are a weak point. Performance is almost spunky if driving alone. Add a body or two and it is no longer spunky. Don’t get one unless it has a five speed. And handling is good. I love driving the Oregon mountain roads alone. One warning: keep the timing belt and pulley tensioner changed at the recommended intervals. I blew the engine in my first Aveo because I went too long. That’s on me. Looks wise, I’d call it cute. And that’s what lots of friends call it. Mechanically, I can’t relate to the negative reviews. Both of mine have had no issues. My current Aveo has 167k miles on it. (I’m writing this as we return to Oregon after driving across the country to Washington D.C.) The steering is tight and the suspension is solid. Oh, I am having issues with my A/C clutch not engaging. I just lift the hood, rap the compressor lightly and it starts working. It’s a little bit of a hassle, but it doesn’t happen all the time. All said, I love this little car. It’s far from perfect, but having paid $2,600 for it with 124k miles on it, I can’t complain.

This car sucks. It takes a decade to accelerate. It handles poorly in the rain and snow. A year after owning it, my coolant hose broke and the head gasket blew. WITH LESS THAN 65,000 miles on the car. Cylinder misfiring after that. Now my A/C is out and the check engine light is back on again. It dies in reverse. It’s not worth even half of what I’ve put into it. Neverending problems. If I didn’t still owe money on it, it would be gone today. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR.

This car is awful I have had to put in seven new thermostats in less then three years there must be a problem with car for this its bad on gas mileage also

I hate this car so much. Soon after I got it guess what? Something went bad with the coils, they burnt up or something and that had to be replaced. Then guess what? The freaking coolant hose or whatever busted. Now the engine light is constantly on after multiple repairs. Its left me on the side of the road smoking, had to be towed away. Temperature gauge is messed up. Gas mileage sucks. CD player randomly stopped functioning and ate my CD, so goodbye to that. Was recently in an accident because the breaks wouldn't stop fast enough on wet pavement. Hit the other car, other car got a minor dent and scratch while mine looks like it went through a war zone. Didn't even hit hard. Piece of sh*** car. And unless I let the bank take the dumpster fire, I'm stuck with a 6900 loan when the car is only worth a 1000 or less. Screw this car. Getting another.

A good cheaper car for the money and planty of space too...I love my Cheviot Aveo! Not good for long way but sure local roads good with ..

I would recommend this car. To anyone wanting a good value at a affordable price, great price for maintenance and 4 cylinder is also very resourceful.
