1990 Chevrolet Corvette consumer reviews

This is a retro review of a retro car, which I bought used in 1996. I owned several C4s, my low-mileage daily driver 1990 triple black convertible was my favorite, which I owned for four years. Sleek, stylish, fun to drive, and turned heads everywhere I drove. What fond memories I have of this car. But like all the C4s I owned it wasn't very reliable, it required numerous and ongoing repairs, in no particular order here they are: alternator (replaced four times), power antenna, radiator, water pump, power brake booster, fuel injectors, u-joints, several oil and transmission gasket leaks, radiator hoses, distributor, the front spring, weather stripping. The roof leaked whenever it rained, no matter how many times I adjusted the windows and weather stripping. If you want to buy a C4 you'd better be ready to turn wrenches or have some cash set aside for repairs because something will always be breaking.

Beautiful design, excellent interiors and fun to Drive!! I got this vehicle for two years now. It sure takes the stress after a hard work week.

it is sharp....everything i thought it would be...it only has 44 thousand miles on it....one owner and was kept in a garage......we were blessed to find it...

The C4 generation Corvette's don't really get the respect they deserve. They represent a significant engineering improvement over the C3 era - and they can provide a dependable, fun daily driver experience. Particularly with a six speed, it is fun to rev the V8 through the gears. Consider an affordable C4 as way to enjoy part of America's sports car legend - the Corvette.

If I had more garage space I would keep this car, it is special to me.I waited 36 years to get my vette. I took very good care of it, no salty roads in Syracuse,N.Y.The car was winterized and put in the barn, covered and tucked in among the hay bales. Also protected it with D-con, no rodent nibbling. Stowed Oct. or Nov. On the road again April or May. Then drove it every day. Trucked it to Florida Oct.,2006 and drove it every day until March 28 2014, when my 2014 Stingray,which I ordered Jan. 4 arrived at which time I left my first love vette for the newer edition. I will always remember my 1990 car, too beautiful to forget.
