I can drive all day without excessive tiring. Although a four banger, it is quiet unless pushed hard on acceleration and has ample torque for freeway ramps. It might not be the best for four big guys but is fine for the wife and me. It comes well equipped but I bought the LS and had leather and rear view mirror with compass, dealer added. In open country, with no headwinds and by myself, would you believe 40+ MPG when held at 60 MPH? Why buy anything else?

It had been almost 3 decades since I last owned a GM product. I prefer hatchback vehicles, since I have to haul a variety of tools and parts for my trade, so hatchbacks are by far easier to work with. I have to say I am quite happy with my choice of vehicle. The Malibu Maxx has a 3.5L V6, which gives me greater performance than expected, and good fuel economy considering the size and weight of the car. The amount of storage is good, and I don't feel cramped while driving. The car responds well, and I don't have that tired feeling I did while driving smaller vehicles. I would easily recommend this car to anyone.

A really nice little car for the money

I recently purchased a used 07 Malibu LS 2.2 L 4 cyl. I'm nearly 6'-2' and find it to be very comfortable. Plenty of leg and head room. The seats provide good lumbar support. It drives nice and looks good. It also has a fair sized trunk. The ride is fairly smooth but not as smooth as some other mid sized cars. At first I thought I should have gotten a 6 cyl. version but after checking my gas mileage at 25 m.p.g. city driving I was amazed. I've never had a car in my entire life that got 25 m.p.g. city, including a VW Beetle. And and the 2.2 4 cyl. engine provides adequate performance. I would recommend anyone to give this car a try before you buy.

This is a great sedan for anybody I'd say the model i have is a LTV6 and is very fast for a big car has lots and lots of torque and will pin you if you drop the auto into low gear and punch it, great reliability so far no problems! My radio is starting to get scratchs and the paint or what ever is coming off a little, the radio in the car is better than any stock radio i've ever herd in my live great voice and extra loud tweaters can be herd from far away, gas milege is ok not to good i think mine avg's around 17.7 MPG but mine needs a tune up badly has not seen a tune up in over 25,000 miles, I like the side curtain air bags also, the only thing i could say that i don't like about my malibu is the body roll, if i try in take a corner fast the whole car moves a lot and when braking body moves alot also, but im used to a performance ford probe gt that had a stiff racing suspension, but other than that i love my new malibu and would recroment it to anybody young and older...

I have put 2,000 miles on my 2007 Malibu. So far it has been a good experience. Did a lot of comparison shopping with other midsized cars and felt the Malibu was the best value. Like best: gas mileage (30mpg combined city/hwy), interior and trunk space, comfortable ride. A couple minor interior creaks/rattles on certain roads is the only negative experience. My biggest worry will be long term reliability since I have owned 3 Japanese-made and 3 U.S.-made cars in my life and have first hand experience.

A Good Solid Drive for a Hire Car

I drove a silver LS 4 cyl for 2 weeks around California/Arizona/Nevada/Utah, covering nearly 3000 miles altogether. The engine was smooth and quiet and gear changes on the auto also smooth. There was some wind noise at speed. It lacked power up steeper gradients but kickdown was easy as was gear locking on steep downhill grades. I managed to average 35 mpg. The handling was wallowy by UK standards (I have a Ford Mondeo which is much better) but this was compensated for by the ride which was excellent. Hated the foot-operated parking brake. Loved the excellent trip computer. The front seats did not have enough support for long drives but were otherwise well-shaped. Incredibly cheap by UK standards. Interior plastics horrible and same problem with stained seats as other reviewer. Stereo only OK. Air con very good. Also had problems with locking doors when inside car. The styling of the car could best be described as bland. Overall this car was a lot better than I expected but still needs improvement to the styling and plastics to compete with the Japanese opposition (the 2008 model looks better but still not quite there).
