2000 Dodge Dakota consumer reviews

I am the second owner of this truck and have drove it almost every day. I had two before this one but this was the best. It drove like a car, rode like a car but hauled stuff like a truck. I hate getting rid of it but I am 68 and would like to get one more truck before I quit. I just do not believe they can make a better truck. It is the exact right size. It is easy to park, easy to drive and has plenty of power on the road. I tend to drive on the fast side but this truck still gets 18 mpg or better on the road. I can not think of one thing I would change about the Dakota.

Very good in all season, very economics, easy to drive, Like the box to carries materials of all kind.The 4.7 cubic inches V8 motor was a strong and fast.

I love my truck. I know it was not the best. But it was perfect in size. There are not much selection in the mid-sized truck category but I think this one blows the others out of the water. It has a lot more style and comfort than the other mid-sized trucks out there. It does have a lot of electrical problems. I have replaced the electrical window regulators and electric door lock actuators several times on my vehicle. I also had to replace the water pump 3 times over 18 years and 160k miles.

It was an excellent truck and ran smooth with no problems for it age and it was great value for the price. I would definitely check into a truck like this one

I've owned 3 and all served well including my daily there great starter trucks great little go around fun truck and might I add they needa bring back this body style no one from my opinion likes the newer body style of 05-11 we want our 97-04 body style back

Best Truck that I have a chance to own as a used 2002 or under.I have had this truck for under a week and I have no regrets about buying this truck and I'm still looking to get another one before year end but this time I will buy a newer one

I'm not much of a Chrysler guy. Never cared for Dodge, Chrysler, or Plymouth vehicles. But when I was searching for an inexpensive work pick-up, this particular Dakota piqued my interest. The miles were low for the year (125k), and the price was right. So I bought it despite my perceptions of Dodge quality. I gotta say, it was far batter than expected. Completely trouble free. It towed a small car for me across three states without problems. I can't say that all Dakotas will be this reliable, but this particular one was an incredible value for the money.
