I have had this car for 19 years and 240k miles!

It has stood up to the test of time and still looks new after 19 years. The folding seats provide so much versatility for cargo and passengers. Whether I am hauling business equipment or kids in the carpool, this has been my go-to vehicle.

Very reliable

The SUV had excellent room but was still small enought to park almost anywhere. It has a lot of power and no issues getting in or out of hectic traffic. Very solid SUV. Was very safe for my son's first car.

2000 SLT 4WD 120000 and still kicking

I parked my Durango after an exhausting trip towing a trailer of full length mirrors up and down the Appalachian mountains. I thought initially after overheating that I blew a head gasket since there was a milky substance all around the radiator cap. After eight years, I put a new battery and 4 new tires on her and she cranked right up and has been driving ever since. Turns out that the head basket was good and she was ready to drive on. Sure, the mileage is crappy but this thing feels like a tank on the road. I've had her 4 wheeling through snow and mud and she never missed a beat. She was too quiet, so a Magnaflow exhaust was installed on the little 4.7 liter. Lots of bark but needs more bite. Not complaining, but the 5.7 might have been more my style. I'm glad I got her 18 years ago and I'm sorry for the long hiatus. Should have never doubted the Mopar spirit. Plan on giving her to my youngest kid. I know at least she'll be safe.

Solid vehicles

The 1st generation Durango is overall a well thought-out, well-executed design. No vehicle is perfect, but the fact that people are still buying these used (never mind the griping about repairs on vehicles with over 200K miles *rolls eyes*) in 2017 & 2018 is a testament to the durability. Any make and model is going to need work over 18 years, but it's not at all difficult to find good running Durangos pushing a quarter million miles and still serving their purpose. If you buy a nearly 20 year old vehicle, you can expect it to need some service immediately or soon; where the Durango is concerned, service is easy compared to similar vehicles, and the parts are pretty inexpensive. I've been working on these for two decades, recently picked up a 2000 SLT+ 5.9 that had been run hard and put away wet. $1,300 for the truck, $1,500 in parts (including things like windshield & headlights), this 212k mile truck is ready to rock with a strong engine that doesn't smoke or make noise and a posi in the rear end that's still going strong after all these years.

Wish I never sold you!

This Durango was the best . never left me stranded even if it was broken. It still was able to make a 40 mile drive one day to where i got it fixed. Still ran like a champ. Sold it with 213K miles. and i want my truck back!

Nicest vehicle owned since my 1966 Chev Impala SS

We bought our Durango in Oct 2017. Had to replace transfer case, front brake pads and rear brake lines because they rusted. Being a retired mechanic, it doesn't long to do. Hit buck with it in Dec and only broke part of front airdam! Call it our Deerslayer now. It has 149,000 miles on it.
