I wish I hadn't bought this car

We bought our 2002 Dodge Intrepid SE in May of 2004. It had about 20,000 miles at the time of purchase. One of the first things we regretted about purchasing the car was its uncomfortable front seats on lengthy drives--miserable. Within the first year, we began having problems with the battery not holding a charge. The battery in this car is incredibly hard to get to, and we have noticed that the battery contacts are constantly getting rust build-up as if there is a moisture problem under the hood. We replaced the battery but that issue continues. In June of 2006 the check engine light came on while driving in heavy traffic, and the car would not shift properly. We had to drive it home at 25 mph. A computer that controls the transmission had gone out, and it would take $800 to repair it. We have also found out this particular engine has a known problem and many with this type of engine have had it blown with no warning around 50,000 miles. Ours is at 52,000 miles. Needless to say we want to get rid of this car.

Good Car

I got a 2002 in 2007 . So far this car is great the only thing that I've needed to do is replace the filters and it runs like new. I've had really bad cars in the past but this one is the best so far. but there is one problem with the car that I really hate it only has a cassette player:) come on who makes a 2002 and puts a cassette player. easy fix.

Great Car!

I bought a used Intrepid SE with about 11,000 miles in January of 2003 and have had it since. Up until a year ago it was my commuter car and now is driven by my sons. It now (March '07) has 61,000 miles and has only recently needed front brakes and new tires. One minor repair under $70 of the blower resistor plus an air conditioner actuator replaced under warranty. The car is excellent on the highway, tracking faultlessly and getting over 30 mpg in sustained highway driving, about 25-26 in mixed driving. Lowest mileage has been about 18 mpg exclusively around town in very cold weather. The Intrepid is still as nice (or better) to drive than my new Dodge Magnum.

most unrealiable car ever owned

I bought a 2002 dodge intrepid in july of 2005. I have already put a transmission and a moter in it. It has left me by the road several times. I hate this car and would not buy another dodge. The company that sold the car to me assured me that it was in good condition. but they lied. therefore, before buying a dodge. make sure you know what your getting.
