A Smooth Trep

Bought in '04 with 25K after having a '99 Intrepid for 2yrs. I was taking a chance since my engine went on the '99, but caught a deal and bought me out of my previous loan. The good thing about the '04 that is better than the '99 is it has a chain instead of belt for the engine so the one main downfall on Trep is helped for the '04. Many (over 10 I personally know) go because of the timing belt. Besides that minor issues come up that could add up if not taken of, but with maintenance and steady oil changes should last for a good while. The look and style are sleek and hot and can be hooked up even more with add-ons (you will constantly get looks). The comfort of the ride is beyond good and can be taken for long trips (I driven from CT to VA and back twice. For the value, go with an Intrepid and take care of it and you will not be disappointed.

Great car watch for 2.7L

These are great handling cars as long as you maintain them. I have a 2.7L engine which I knew had problems when I bought it. I have used Mobil 1 since I got it. The 2.7 has a known slug problem and many fail early (HAVE A MECHANIC CHECK ANY PROSPECTIVE PURSCHAE). I do love the car though and have had few problems over 100K miles.

Dodge stopped making their best auto in 2004

I have owned 4 new Intrepids (1996,1998,2000,& 2004) and have put 100,000 trouble free miles on each. They are large, good riding and handling vehicles. I have had both large and small v6 engines. The small v6 provided 29 mpg on highway and 23 mpg in town.. I past on each vehicle to other relatives who put an additional 100,000 trouble free miles as well, only changing oil, brake pads and tires.

Dodge Intrepid is my baby!

I have owned three dodge intrepids now ranging from 1997 to 2004. I absolutely love these cars for their sleek look, extremely comfortable interior and superior handling of the road. These are big cars, but also have a lot to offer. There are many options as far as interior goes as well as with the motor. The 3.5 engine is recommended for performance but the 2.7 for economy. There are some known problems with these vehicles, but no more than other mopar products. Overall, it is an awsome car and they look great!
