Transmissions go completely out before 85,000 miles.
Transmissions go completely out before 85,000 miles. Ford refuses to recall more of them, and parts are backordered two or more months. If there is such an issue, why not recall the transmission?

ST transmission is not good.
I bought a certified pre-owned 2020 ST model. It only had 20,000 mi on it appears to have been babied. It's beautiful it has tons of power and gets good MPGs considering. However, the transmission just shifts like crap. It's enough to ruin the experience in certainly not fitting of a "performance" vehicle. It is extremely disappointing. Ford has a software update, but It is hard to get them to acknowledge there is an issue. At 20K miles, any car should be shifting fine. But this unfortunately is a fairly common issue with Ford edges and their 8-speed transmission. If you get one, just turn the radio up and ignore it. And make sure you get the longest warranty you can!

A Very Good Choice
I love the size if the Edge. Big enough, but not too big. I can transport large items, such as furniture. The look is great. The interior is well finished. Enough compartments and gouges, but not overdone. I have the model that has what I think is called 'Vista View' which allows nearly the entire roof of the car to be uncovered from inside allowing a great view of the sky. It also opens which is great because I love fresh air and the feel of being outside. One of the two drawbacks I have found in approximately two years of ownership is that the transmission is not smooth at lower speeds - say under 35 or 40. Not really a problem- just a little annoying. I'm also wondering if the balkiness of the transmission now will cause any issues in later years. The second drawback for me is that the gear selector is a dial. Even after two years of using this gear selector, I have not grown uses to it. It is not at all intuitive; dials are for radios not gear shifts. I do like the car, and I'm happy I bought it. Just use this review as a heads up if you start looking seriously at an Edge.

If they know it then fix it first.
Just pass my 60000 miles on my Edge and now the transmission in slipping, dealer in service department stated that they have a lot problems with Ford Edge transmission around 60000 miles and cost is 3800 to 8000. I had a Ford Escape with 200 k with no problems now the Edge is cutting back in second and third gears.

Ford Edge Love
So far, I love my Edge - 3 weeks owned. It is roomy and has leather, heated seats and knows how to parallel park which I haven't used yet. It seems to get good gas milage and ready to take it on a trip up north this weekend. We carry with us our "stuff" and two cats and they will have plenty of room to lounge as we drive when we put the seats down in the back. It was a good buying experience at Royal Oak Ford as I had to have a vehicle after my Ford Escape was totaled in a hit and run accident, I need a dependable vehicle that had plenty of room to haul food for Blessings In A Backpack. It was a good fit!

Crossroads Nissan is where to go!
I purchased my 2020 Ford Edge ST from Crossroads Nissan of Wake Forest. I just recently moved to the area and needed something bigger and wanted something AWD. I am just blown away from the customer service experience here. They were friendly, knowledgeable and understanding. 100/100

Black Ford Edge.
I drove 3 SUV in a month. 2020 Marano, Terrain, Edge. The Ford Edge topped them all style speed roomy, all the features. I am so grateful I chose the edge the price was perfect for a 2 years old car. It’s new to me. Ford you did a great job creating the Ford Edge.
