Excellent Vehicle
Have put a few thousand on the new Explorer and love it. Got the XLT package because I wanted the alloy wheels and few other options like the fog lights. The standard SNYC is fantastic. I dunno why everyone has so much trouble with it. Hooked my phone up to it within minutes- call clarity is fantastic and the voice recognition is better than i expected. I hooked up my 7 year old iPod and it worked seemlessly. People complained that it was distracting and too much work but I think its very conveiniant. The engine has plenty of pep despite what some reviews might say. The six speed transmission likes to shift thru the gears to keep the engine RPM low. Makes for great mileage, but gives you the impression that it is underpowered. But don't be fooled- Just put the hammer down when merging on the highway and the V6 will impress you. You can also use the select shift to open her up. The third row isnt great for road trips or your grandparents because its a little tricky to get into- but who cares? Its great to have the ex tra seating if you have a big group a friends. Odds are they wont mind crawling into the back if it means everyone can get in one car. Overall this is a fantastic SUV that offers plenty of space while still fitting into parking spaces. Its an excellent compromise for someone wanting lots of seating, but in need of the cargo space sometimes. It iis a great upgrade from the previous generation, and looks much better too. i would recommend this vehicle

Happy with new Explorer
Was worried about this purchase after reading several reviews such as motor trend who seems to hate this vehicle. We have absolutely loved this vehicle. Interior fit and finish is excellent. Solid ride with no rattles. Pull my 19ft Ranger boat with no problems.

Great Vehicle but be prepared for sticker shock.
picked up a base model and we have had it for 3 weeks and have just over 1,000 miles on it...my wife loves it , she loves the Ford Sync and the ride is so smooth....haven'ts experienced a lot of problems liek a lot of others but from reading multiple Explorer Forums the MyFord Touch is a disaster and is probably the biggest complaint for most owners who have this option. One thing I hate is that Ford did not make basic things liek daytime running lamps and lighted vanity mirrors standard items....one warning is be prepared for sticker shock the limited can get close to the $50,000 mark.

Worst Ford Ever
Hoping the Explored improves during ownership. So far, a disaster. Likes: gorgeous exterior, loaded with features on Limited edition, handsome leather interior. Dislikes: snug interior, useless third row, squeaks and rattles, unusable "MY FORD" infotainment system, terribly underpowered poor gas mileage, stalling issues awaiting fix at dealership, faded looking paint in spots, heated seats and massage only hit the lower back - needs to aim higher, unexpected Lincoln like price - sticker shock. Summary: have liked the many Ford pickups Ford and Lincoln sport utility vehicles we have owned or leased. This new '12 Ford Explorer is by far the most trouble prone car owned or leasaed. Miss our MKX.
