I've had my 2016 Focus SE for 9 years this year & will

I've had my 2016 Focus SE for 9 years this year & will drive it until one of us dies. I've never had a problem with it. It gets great gas mileage, is comfortable & roomy. I've hauled many things that others thought wouldn't fit but with the back seats folded down ...no problem. I would recommend a Focus to anyone looking for a reliable vehicle.

I bought the car in 2020 now , I've replaced the water

I bought the car in 2020 now , I've replaced the water pump, alternator, purge valve and normal maintenance, the car gets up to speed on the highway pretty good , is pretty quite , handles good for a economy car, I got a 5 speed manual with all the bells and whistles, I would say it's not bad for the price I paid for it , I guess the automatics are a nightmare to own. If you drive in the snow get snow tires, other than that I hope to hit 200 k with this car

Bought my 2016 Ford focus hatchback and I'm at 90,000

Bought my 2016 Ford focus hatchback and I'm at 90,000 miles. My transmission is going out. I have had it into two different shops and I have got the same reply. I tell them it is shuddering and slipping gears, the rpm's rev up but the car is only going between 34mph to 40 mph. My transmission is going out. I looked up recalls and this is not listed, pretty much everything else is listed but this issue. So now I'm stuck with a car that I still owe 5k on and a transmission going out that is well above 5k to replace. Definitely beware of buying a 2016 Ford focus hatchback automatic.

Excellent Performance, MPG, Transmission Problems

I am reviewing for the 2016 Ford Focus S.E. with hatchback. Engine performance, pick-up, and MPG are excellent! The car overall is an excellent choice. I have had very few mechanical problems with it. MAKE SURE WHEN YOU BUY THIS CAR THE TRANSMISSION IS GOOD. I made the mistake of buying it when the transmission was bad! Ford doesn't know how to make good transmissions for the Focus. DO NOT set MyKey! It WILL cause problems! Even with the dealer key I didn't see the MyKey option after I had set it once, and I had to completely delete MyKey from the system altogether using my computer. The remote start battery wears out quickly! You can only remote start it a few times before it goes out. I recommend this car, but DO NOT try to let someone sell it to you with a bad transmission, before or after the test drive!

Nice small car.

Great little car that's great on gas. If you're going to drive it in the winter I would recommend snow tires. The only reason I would not recommend it is because they have had issues with their automatic transmissions. Mine was acting up so I took it to the dealer. So far, so good. No current issues with it.

Do your research

I have had a lot of trouble with this vehicle. Ending with a blown transmission due to a issue ford new about when it was put on the market. I am disappointed.

Always something wrong

I’ve only owned Ford focuses my entire life, and every single model always has something wrong. The current one I have is a 2016 and the transmission blew in 2020. Cost $1400 to fix, even though there was an open law suit Ford would not compensate for damages. Now there’s recalls on the purge valve and the welding. Every Ford car I’ve had has had transmission issues as well. Time for me to trade in after $1000 in repairs in 2021.
