Fun, Sporty Feeling Car with lingering uncertainty

The car is great to drive. I've owned quite a few larger and commuter vehicles in the past and this is by far the most fun to drive. It has a feeling of slightly sport, and can get amazing gas milage (I usually am somewhere around 40 mpg on highway and 33 in city). It has a great feel and the interior design is beautiful in my opinion for what you're paying for. The features you get with SE sports package (aluminum wheels, paddle shifters, etc) are great and I feel for the most part, what you're paying for is worth it. Although I like the car a lot, it has a lot of uncertainty in the future for me. The transmission on these vehicles is much better than its predecessors, however I already replaced the clutch on this vehicle at 38,000 miles (after I purchased the vehicle used from a dealership). Fortunately - I had a power train warranty on the vehicle for another 6 years so if this issue comes up again, I will be covered. I would definitely advise anyone who is considering purchasing a Focus to get a warranty on their vehicle. I will also not be selling my car in the future by my self - I cannot with a clean conscience sell this to someone with the transmission already giving me issues at 38,000 (And I have the feeling I'll need to replace the clutch again around 50,000 with the way its handling recently).

Reliable car for my son

After owning a haphazardly parted together Jeep Cherokee that I was tired of dumping money into, I decided I needed to buy my son a more reliable fuel efficient vehicle that would keep him safe. While he had his heart set on getting a Mazda, I wanted to find him something with lower miles & stylish. In my wildest dreams, I would have never picked a Ford Focus...until I took one out for a test drive. It’s a great little car with great gas mileage, & is fun to drive. It came with many newer safety features, including a back up camera. I feel better knowing that my son has a great car to get him to & from school & work, & I don’t have to worry about him breaking down.

Best economical gas mileage car for road trips

This car looks good inside and out but wish it was a little bit more spacious inside and had built in GPS. Its sound system is good and bluetooth connectivity with phone, alexa and so on is great. A/C is A grade. My only not like is that I wish it had a faster transmission take off rate, but once off very smooth and comfortable change.

This car is perfect it has good trunk space and room all throughout especially if your tall. I appreciate all the features as well like the back up cam and auto emergency call if the air bags are deployed. I think its a great car for any age range. I'm in my twenties.

Horror Story Transmission

Great car except for the horrible transmission. I have only had it a couple of weeks and its at a Ford dealer to have the transmission checked out. They say mine isn't that bad. Huh? If it is hot out, it will roll backwards if the brake is released on a hill. It is supposed to act like an automatic, but it is a DCT unit. To go without it slipping, you have to jack rabbit start every time. No way in heck it will ever get the mileage its rated at doing hole shots from stops to get it to engage. Stop and go traffic reminds me of driving a stick shift with a worn out clutch. Now I know why it only had 3800 miles and is 3 years old. I am currently driving an 02 Able (family car extra) while the Focus is in the shop. Golly gee, that automatic transmission actually works.

Will never buy a Ford again

I first tried a 2014 and stupidly traded it in for a 2016 thinking with all the issues I had the dealership would work with me with the new car. 2014 had clutch problems and Ford refused to admit there was a problem. 2016 wipers and gas gauge would randomly stop working. Also daytime running lights went off. Dealership refused to even look at the car saying that can’t happen and even argued with me that I didn’t have Dre’s. That 98%of all U.S. cars don’t have them. Even though they worked the first 2 years. Complained to Ford and they sent a letter stating many car issues were due to how the car was driven. So my wipers stopped because I drove in the rain?? Will never buy another Ford. They build subpar quality vehicles and don’t care about their customers
