Great with one exception...

Loved the interior and all the features. Very comfortable. Particularly loved the control panel and seeing how efficiently I could drive. However, if your objective is to do something positive for the environment , 37 mpg isn't much better than a good gas-powered vehicle. All competitors in the field get at least 60 mpg.

144000 TROUBLE FREE MILES

My 2010 Fusion Hybrid has has exceeded my expectations for long term quality and reliability. The car has continued to deliver fuel economy above 36 mpg per tank. I also owned a 2015 Lexus 300h. Of the two, the Fusion hybrid system is more seamless and responsive. The Fusion brakes are easier to modulate and more responsive. The Fusion's handling is more responsive and confidence inspiring. As much as a hybrid can be, the Fusion is more of a drivers car.

Very Happy with 2010 Ford Fusion SEL

I was really hesitant about buying a Hybrid however, we test drove 2010 4cyl Ford Fusion Hybrid and a 2010 Fusion 6cyl SE. After the test I did notice a little more oomph on the 6 cyl. We decided on the Hybrid SEL..it had all the bells and whistles..leather seat, heated seats, sunroof, back up and blindspot cameras, Microsoft sync and navigation. The on screen display makes it easy to know status and control different aspects of your media, navigation and car systems. You can also "talk" to the car but haven't gotten that far yet. Bought this car used with 54K. We were amazed that with combo city and hwy driving we avg 39.2 mpg! ....more than we expected.! I did not differ too much from my normal driving style either. I found the acceleration into highway traffic adequate ...not scary to merge into fast moving traffic...I previously owned a 2000 3.9 liter V-8 that could giddy up when you wanted to..so did the gas...I am pleasantly surprised and hope that I continue to be with this Hybrid experience.

Will never go back to fully gas vehicle

As an owner a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, for 108,000 miles and 5.5 years, I will never go back to a straight gasoline car. It is the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. I saved $1800 by not buying the 100K mile warranty (didn't need it). I have now saved $8400 on gasoline versus the Explorer I used to drive. My lifetime mpg average is 39.4 and increasing. The last 2 tanks have been an average of 43 mpg. I keep 100% gas records. It even gets 40 mpg in the mountains, making up almost all mileage lost going up hill, with regen mode going down hill with moderate braking. Fleet data on Ford Escape Taxis in California show no high voltage battery failures (other than accident damaged batteries), in an average lifespan of over 300,000 miles for the whole taxi fleet, with the same batteries I have, NiMH. My brake pads are like new, 11 mm of thickness on the fronts, 8 mm on the rears. With just the 4 cylinder 2.5L Akinson cycle engine in a 4000 lb car, it has plenty of passing power, when the 2 electric motors kick in; it feels like a supercharger, and has very little impact on the mpg. I plan on driving this vehicle for at least 10 years or 200,000 miles.

Outstanding gas milage

Great car to drive. Handles well and good acceleration. Getting 40mpg average. Got 67 mpg on 3 mile trip to work today. MPG will dip if drive aggressive so it is up to you how well you do with mpg. Took a 800 mile road trip averaging 75 to 80 mph and still averaged 33 to 34 miles per gallon. I have owned 750 series BMW, Land Rover, Acura... and am very happy with the quality of the Fusion Hybrids.

Blew away my impression of hybrids!

I went from a V6 Nissan Maxima to the Fusion Hybrid with the idea that I'd be giving up a lot of performance. While it won't blow others off the line, this hybrid is quite respectable. The 4-cylinder gas engine packs a good punch when you throttle, plus the electric engine can keep you cruising with traffic at city speeds. Handling is as good as my old Maxima -- tight and firm. This car is loaded with all the goodies except nav, and forthe money is a great value. I'd recommed the Fusion Hybrid for those who want to go hybrid, but still want to enjoy the driving experience!

When Audi met Prius

Adore this car. My husband calls me a New England hippie. He is a whitebread executive with an appreciation for luxury and performance. In this car, we've found a car that scratches both of our itches. This car is solid. It purrs. The ride is firm, the acceleration delicious. Love the heated leather seats and my moon roof. The mpg is, of course, lower than that of my Prius. But I feel safer, I can move on the road if I need to (I live in north Jersey!), and when I go over bumps, I don't worry about leaving part of the car behind. I didn't buy it for the sound system or the back up camera/blind spot detector, but these increase my pleasure in the car. I feel pampered. The husband says this car is as good as, or better than, the Audi. Seriously! And I know the maintenance costs and reliability are going to be worlds better. Toyota did a great thing by setting the bar high for fuel economy. They brought their idea mainstream. And now Ford and others have jumped into the game. I am looking forward to how competition will push car manufacturerers to shoot higher and higher, and my current mpg looks puny.

Very nice car but............

I have owned the car for about a month now. I have driven almost 2k miles. The car is comfortable and the mileage is definitely an improvement to the 2002 it is replacing. I seem to be averaging 33mpg. its not the 35-40 that is advertised on Fords or the GOV fuel efficiency website. The Sync system is nice once you get it setup. Setup is a little tricky, since you do not find your phone thru the Bluetooth settings. I also find using a regular GPS in the window to be more convenient then the navigator on Sync. The radio seems to lack much in displayed information. My 2002 would display the radio station call letters and the song being played. The Focus displays nothing but the channel number. Since the Hybrid has the high voltage batteries under the rear seat, there is a definite lack of truck space and you can not put down the seat for more space. The car feels like it could have been stretched in the back to be a sort of station wagon, something kinda like they did with the Focus. This car also has less trunk space than my 2002. Overall I am happy with the car, since no car can be all things.
