1999 Mustang GT Convertible

I have owned my pony for 4 years now. The only repair I had was a fuel pump 2 years ago. Every little button still works, it is fast(but not superfast yet) and it looks soooo cool! The main reason I went with this Mustang over a Vette, is it is way easier to get in and out of for an older guy. It has all the standard amenities you could want. And did I mention how cool you look in a red Pony convertible when you squawk the tires???

Great First Car

I got my mustang as my first car after I got my license. It's perfect to learn how to drive a stick, and never fails to get some admiration from my classmates. It is not insanely loud and annoying, but the engine makes some gorgeous sounds (enough to make onlookers jealous). Not great for needing a commute vehicle to and from school. But it is hardy and good for fun outings.

Most reliable car I have owned

Currently have 191,000 miles, original engine and auto trans, have kept well maintained. Runs well, engine seems to have a lot of life left in it, as with the trans as well. Paint is cracking badly, but car is 20 years old - may well just have engine rebuilt when in is time - hate to ever get rid of this car.

The 1999 Mustang GT is the best.

My 1999 Mustang GT Convertible 35th Anniversary Limited Edition is the finest car I've ever owned. It fires right up on the coldest morning, runs great, turns heads wherever I drive it, and it has never left me stranded.

1999 V6 Auto. Yes!

This is my first car. This will be my only car. I am convinced there is no need to get anything else for a car. The thing about this is the maintenance is really easy and for introductory self-servicing, this the car to do it. Setup time in your schedule rent or buy the tools and do the repairs or maintenance yourself. Just yesterday I went to work to replace all of my brake pads, swap a seized rear brake caliper, left tie rod end and resurface my rear brake disks. I started at 7:35 am and finished around 4:30 pm in temps ranging from 10 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. I have never done this stuff before so that's pretty good. I have also changed the spark plugs within a 4 hour range all by myself for the first time in my life. I'm not a car guru or have the right tools for the job, but I did the job right the first time. Because it was easy to learn. Also the factory belt tensioner 98 snapped in half after 20 years. The belt was fine and is sitting as a replacement part in my trunk if ever in need. Next, the seats I have are cloth and feel great as bucket seats. Bucket seats now days are way too stiff and keep you in only one position. That doesn't sound comfortable driving 2+ hours to a destination. GR to Detroit is a nice ride and I recommend getting these seats. I will, however, need to get them re-upholstered. Then the styling, the interior is a great design and never was confusing. Everything is as easy to learn except for changing the time on the clock... But besides that, I can't drag down a star for the time settings. This Mustang is getting its mileage in as it's getting towards hitting 150,000. You see windstars getting to really high mileage all the time. These V6 Mustangs have the same V6 Essex Engine in them. The only real difference is the split ports being always open on the Mustang. This doesn't have the power or speed you associate the name Mustang to have. These V6 Mustangs have 3.27 rear gearing in the back and a 4 speed automatic. This Mustang has 0-60 times that almost reach the double digits. I don't really understand the hate these V6 Mustangs attract though. Off the line, this thing is still nice. It throws me and everyone in the passenger seat back until it's done. So as far as my review goes these Mustangs are near if not perfect and shouldn't be trying to reach the standard but be the standard.

Awesome car, turns a lot of heads.

Very fun car to drive. Never left me stranded and I always had a blast everytime I got in it. This car brought me and a lot of people I know smiles. The car sounds good and is fun to cruise on a hot summer day.

Meets expectations and then some!

This car is exactly what I was looking for--Mustang convertible. It rides well. Gas mileage is decent at 25 mpg. Flashy yellow color is what I wanted. Terrific sound system with 6 CD changer!
