  • Amazing for large families

We recently purchased a 2018 Transit 350, 12 passenger and I’m honestly sad we didn’t do it sooner. My husband and I have five children (all in car seats/boosters) and two large dogs, packing everyone into my Acadia for a road trip was stressful and no one had personal space. In the Transit the kids essentially have their own row of seating and we have so much cargo space! I can fit all groceries into the cargo area without laying seats down which is phenomenal. Getting everyone in and out of the Transit is much easier as the sliding door is huge. Keeping this vehicle clean is also surprisingly easy as you can see under every seat front to back. There are no plastic parts to hide garbage or a forgotten backpack until the weekly cleaning. Granted I was skeptical of just how great this would be as I’ve always driven an SUV and have zero desire to be a minivan mom. Driving it can also be intimidating at first but it seriously drives like an SUV. I am five foot tall and had no trouble navigating my way around town. However, I do recommend double parking in the further portion of the parking lot or you won’t be able to get everyone into the sliding door if the car beside you parks too close, only slight downside. If you have a big family you need to buy this van!

  • Ford Transit 350HD RV chassis

Love the visibility! Drives like a van though much bigger. So far, gas mileage is not what has been advertised in media. I wish there were a 2 inch receiver instead of 1 1/4 inch receiver so I could use a platform for transport of small scooter. If one uses an 1 1/4 to 2 inch extender the weight limit is reduced.

  • Terrible acceleration due to transmission!!

I think it’s a just okay for a cargo van but transmission is not good when getting on express way or accelerating getting onto express. Not to mention poor gas mileage.

  • Unreliable diesel

At 11000 km van died while driving. No warning lights until it completely died. This was due to very fine water particles in the fuel which the water detection system cannot detect. Yet to meet emissions it so sensitive. Warranty would not cover it and had to pay out of pocket. Just over 40000km engine died after coming off highway, again no warning lights. This time due to internal engine failure. Needs a new engine covered by warranty. Still in the shop for 3 weeks of lost business. Ergonomics are worse than sprinter in the cab. Should move the whole transmission selector up for leg room. Climate control hard to see and use at a glance. Don't trust the van anymore with reliability issues in the last 15 months.

  • good for large families

Bought used. Works very well for getting kids and all our stuff around. If I purchased new I would get leather and a limited slip rear end. Waiting to see how it does on bad roads... probably not good.
